Everybody thinks they can be as good as Team aVo. Most people don't know who to grief, or how to grief. Griefing sometimes can be a good thing, like these people, who totally deserved it.

Studies have shown that 843,902,635 people are too lazy to read this number.

Haha, that's pretty good. But really? I create church's for the fun of it and making them look good...but forcing people to go? L.O.L
BTW, "God helps those who help themselves" is not in the bible :biggrin.gif:
This conversation is going to get ugly, fast. I'm choosing to stay out of the bulk of it, but I will say this.
Avoiding griefers isn't difficult. Yes, some of them have ways of getting around protection, but it's just a matter of playing with friends instead of random people online.
That doesn't, of course, excuse it. It's a shame that this is how people play the game, but hey, I don't really give a **** because griefers and I never come face to face in my worlds.
I never grief anyone but... just cut it, will you? If someone builds something so big he isn't prepared to rebuild and hasn't anyhow saved, he can blame himself if it's destroyed.
Just imagine what the game would be like WITHOUT any griefers at all. You could rely on the fact whatever you build will stand eternally, because creepers are rather easy to keep off your buildings after all and endermen are easy to prevent from spawning in them. Now where the hell would be the fun in that? Risk is part of every game, and makes games more enjoyable.
I don't approve of excessive griefing but I like how the threat always exists. It makes you appreciate your own creations more.
What comes to the excessive amount of griefing in MC, it's because when people get bored of playing by the rules they usually don't quit playing entirely, but first they just quit playing by the rules. Same happened to me in runescape years ago, when I got bored of the game I first started organizedly scamming items with assistants and then accounts. It was really enjoyable.
I'm fairly certain you actually believe everything you just said in this quote.
How very sad. Your mother must be so proud :dry.gif:
What about survival servers where griefing is allowed?
People never seem to take that into account.
It's not, by definition griefing if it's allowed, it's just a server where the rules are: "It's mayhem time!" and there's nothing wrong with that. Many servers will occasionally host griefing days, where they'll back up everything, let everyone go wild on it for a few hours, then revert it.
Basically if you're playing on someone's server, you're playing by their rules or they'll likely ban you. If there are `no rules' than that's that, have at it I say. It's all up to the admin, and if you don't care for it there are thousands of servers out there.
If the server admin has any sense, they'll run the appropriate plugins, back up frequently and take all other steps to enforce their rules. And again, if you're set up properly it's absolutely a non-issue. Someone can grief my server all night and with one command everything they've done is undone. It's just that easy.
There is actually such a thing as a "griefingteam" in minecraft, with a fairly large fanbase, who puts videos up on youtube with more upvotes than downvotes, where they destroy other peoples creations for 15+minutes, with poor excuses like "lrawl, the admrins were bad ppl aniwai"?
I've played both league of legends and WOW and i thought i've seen it all, but this game takes the price of having the worst community EVER.
I mean comeon. Even the kkk must have more humane and positive clanmeetings than these shitheads mindsets?
I find this to be hilarious. The fact that they do something as a team that many can't do without being banned almost instantly is amazing, and they deserve mad respect for their communication skills.

"You should steal from people you care about so you can to donate to my (crappy and unprotected)server so you can get on and entertain me by following stupid rules and role play I've set in place."
"Something profound usually goes here but I decided to place a
self-referential and self-aware quote that others probably used
instead."
Except in this case, vocal is replaced with burning down your f***ing towers.
If they grief? Don't react.
I asked a man that came onto my server today if he had griefed, he said "no i swear" I said "LOL Mcbans....."
He left. Epic win.
If you're a small map maker, send me a PM and if it's good enough I'll advertise it in my sig.

Leave them be, don't forget to backup, IP ban them, rollback. Leave these guys be.

Entire subnets of people like AvO are banned in that, so they can't even join an MCbans server in the first place.

Bad people?More like huge douche bags.
