Does anyone know if terrain generation is changing again in 1.10? As it did in 1.8, and 1.9.
Probably, considering that several biomes have issues with things like coloration, climate, and flora and fauna distribution, plus we kind of lost some of them in the %-shuffle to introduce new ones for testing/feedback.

More Ocean Life: Kelp, Coral, Crabs and Jellyfish; Coconut Palm trees for beaches and islands. Terrain Generation Changes: Which biomes and world-building features are most in need of change?
To be frank, you don't really have to start your map over, unless you have explored hundreds and hundreds of chunks around you because you had nothing else to do, you should be able to use the same one and get some new features near youre main spawn point.
I still hope for some nice stone bridges when ravines and mineshafts collide :laugh.gif: That would give more Adventure feeling than most other things :biggrin.gif:
I also dislike starting over and over again, but I hope they improve the generation code, too.
Since there are still lots of bugs in the generation code, which surely will be adressed, I guess it will be worth to start anew once in a while.
as irritating asi t is, I find the new worlds exciting to explore.

.... So does the 1.9 Pre-release cound as the proper release now?
Nope, the current stable release is 1.8.1
There is yet another prerelease for 1.9 expected within the week, which is likely to contain item repairing mechanics and possibly early breeding mechanics.

I'd definitely would like to see the mineshafts and strongholds cleaned up. It drives me nuts to be exploring one and suddenly come across a jumbled nightmare of support beams floating in a ravine.

I just pictured escaping a hoard of screeching endermen on a minecart holding some medallion or something while the Indiana Jones theme plays.

It matters to us because we like building empires and starting over stings a bit.
