Yes, i had lag/poor framerate issues after 1.8. After pouring over many threads in search of answers for various other 1.8 issues, i noticed someone stating that deleting their .minecraft folder fixed their lag/framerate issues. I was doubtful, but bugger me, it worked. Framerates are now somewhere near what i remember them to be.
Obviously if you intend to use this method, back up your saves first, then copy paste them back into the newly created .minecraft folder after opening minecraft again. Your stats and achievments for any saved games will be reset to zero and probably a few other things that i haven't yet noticed (but i guess it's possible to save them too if one cares to look).
Indeed I have. At first, I thought that it may possibly have been the fact that I now must use a Mac, as I haven't played MC since having to use a Mac.
And like Steves said, lag and a low framerate are far, far different from each other. Lag means your friend is teleporting or something like that. A low FPS means your game's skipping a lot of frames, meaning it's 'slow' or something. I don't know the correct word for it.

I don't get any lag, but ever since the update when ever I play minecraft my laptop gets very very hot so I can only play like half an hour and take an hour break before I can play again, and it only happens when I play minecraft :sad.gif: but luckily the update came out so close to my birthday so I am getting a new computer in a few weeks :biggrin.gif:
