ive been trying for like 5 hours to get the 1.8 update, just keeps saying login failed. How did some people get 1.8?
well i got it by logging in and the update came by itself i just clicked yes
if you have a mod installed try hitting a force update right before you log in and see if that works
I got it at around 6:30 am in the morning, before the 1.8 rush.

its because so many people are playing right now the server is overpopulated, keep trying! someone will log off eventually!
It's not that you have to make it so that someone logs off, it's that the auth servers are being overrun because everyone is logging in at once. Eventually, it will die down, just like it did with pre-release.
