One thing I really love about Minecraft is how you use simple shapes and materials to make awesome things. So naturally, I'm interested in type of furniture and other cool accessories you can make in Minecraft and "detail up" a place. Chairs, Sinks, Tables, Shelves, whatever.
You might remember this old Planet Minecraft blog post. It's what got me inspired a long time ago. - [link] I've looked for new threads and posts on how to use new items to make furniture, but they're all super out of date... or nonexistant.
I was wondering if anyone wanted to share screenshots, links, and / or videos on cool little things you can put together.
To kick it off, this is my version of a TV. It's in a house I had on the server Mind-Craft. "The History of the Color Black" actually became somewhat of a meme over there. x3
Place a piston with the retracting end facing up
2-3 of them can make a nifty table. ... I'm guessing you've used the whole stairs/sign idea?
I have actually, yes. As far as pistons, I've used them to make nicer tables and sink counters.
If it's not clear, the sink part is made by a backwards cobblestone stair. The pipe looking things are iron blocks, which usually make you think of mirrors. It doesn't really work with this pack, so I put up paintings. xD
for a toile I use white wool woth a fence bellow it and a slab infront of it with a button on the side of the wool :smile.gif:
I've never heard of that one! I'll have to try it out and see how it looks. :'D What I normally do is just dig a single hole in the floor and cover it with a trapdoor. xD
It has a lot of good furniture ideas, that can be used for different situations.

I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything

Something you should check out is this thread. http://www.minecraft...urniture-ideas/ ... It has a lot of good furniture ideas, that can be used for different situations.
Ooh, that is nice. :'D Thanks for the link! I can definitely see myself using some of these.
I have a kitchen, there's more stuff in my signature.
WOW! I am really impressed by the huge selection of designs and nifty accessories. It's so hard to pick a favorite!
Good work, man. I definitely appreciate you sharing it.
I always wanted furniture in minecraft vannila, the tables don't feel tableish proper chairs, couches, a way to make different color beds (almost forgot there are beds in minecraft vanilla. :tongue.gif:), cabinets, coffee tables, and other stuff I left out. It would be amazing to have at least 10+ pieces of furniture.
I use the saw from Eloraam's Redpower to slice up blocks to make furniture. It's not the quickest method, but it produces pretty decent stuff. Chairs, tables, desks, wall-hangings, carpets...I admit that I haven't tried to make a toilet yet, but I was planning on a spa bath!
I'd screenshot only I daren't open up my 1.8.1 world until all the mods are updated :smile.gif:

Kudos and happy holidays from Javalavadingdong!
That is one epic toilet you've got there... Too bad toilets aren't black >_<
At any given moment those red pixels could be either polkadots or hearts.
Most* toilets aren't black. ;3
