NEW: What do you guys think about this? You don't donate directly to us at all. You donate to the picked charity, give us proof of your donation, and you are in! We think this is the best route to go, that way all of the skeptics out there do not have to worry about us scamming anyone. NEW: We need help with prizes! Being in college is expensive and I can't buy the prizes, if you or anyone you know can donate the a prize such as a Steam gift code or XBL points, etc, let us know! You don't have to send them to us, just be able to commit to sending to the winners! (We can pay for the postage).
Craft For A Cause is a non-profit, monthly Minecraft building competition. Our goal is to spread the awareness and raise money for numerous organizations, foundations, and charities with a good cause (e.g. Autism Speaks, American Cancer Society) by means of crafting! We all love Minecraft, and we spend numerous hours on it, so why not put all that time and money to a good cause? 100% of donations go towards a pre-announced non-profit organization with a good cause. The prize will be pre-announced and will consist of things like Steam gift codes, Minecraft merchandise (socks pickaxes, etc) and much more!
We are not a legal 503c non-profit organization yet, but we are currently working on filing for all of that!
TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND YOU, WE WILL NOT BE HANDLING DONATIONS. YOU MUST DONATE DIRECTLY TO THE PICKED CHARITY AND PROVIDE TO US VALID INFORMATION PROVING YOUR DONATION. [this should make the skeptics happier :wink.gif: ]

I have read the post, and it seems very similar to another donation competition. However, I am verifying that they are the same, not just very similar.
Rather than taking action with possible misinformation, I'd like to hear back from this person.
You probably shouldn't jump to conclusions so much, it can lead you to trouble.
Will there be some way for you to prove to us where the donations go?
Well. We want to, if we can think of a way to prove it. Right now I can only think of screenshots or a video of us donating the money. Currently donations go like this: Money is taken out for the server costs (which is only going to be $30 a month at first) a set percentage or a set amount goes to the winner. ALL the rest goes to charity. If you have any ideas for us please share them. We are open to change.
I want to support this, and I hope I can! You should try and make a banner to help spread the word. Also, is the 5$ donation weekly or just donate once and you're in forever and can participate and vote in each compitition.

Probably every competition, since you ARE winning money if you get first place. To be honest I can't make banners that well. I suppose I could use the big banner as a signature advertisement. I'll put that in the original post. Expect to see it within a few minutes.

Oh ok, that sounds cool. And I can maybe adjust the banner a bit to make more...banner like. I'll PM you a link when I'm done!

Thank you very much. I shall close the other thread then. Please inform a member of staff when something like this comes up.
