Well it says on the site it says for as http://www.minecraft.net/about.jsp "For as long as people enjoy and purchase the game, I will develop extensions after the game is done." So I think we can expect more content even after the game is finished. :biggrin.gif:
chill out guys, the reason it is getting released in september is because it's going to be rather big and notch will need a couple months to finish prepping the game for "release", and really, 3 months for what it's going to contain is reasonable, and don't you complain about not leaving time for more updates, there will be expansions after release and content still coming, but believe it or not, there is more involved in a release than just a few bug fixes... (even if it is just a milestone)
I heard that someone else heard from someone else that the 1.8 update will break the current save files. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?
Jeb did say that there could be chunk errors in old maps that explore to new areas, but he said it would still work. Also; He said that notch is looking at expanding Biomes and such. So it might be best to try and MCEdit your old stuff into the new version of the same seed after 1.8 comes out.
It really makes me want to just stay in a confined area until 1.8 comes out. I was going to build a subway to a snow biome but it might not be in a snow biome after 1.8 . Heck, my current tree lodge might be in a snow biome after 1.8... That would suck.
Oh well. I'm still looking forward to everything that will be in 1.8, I just wish it would be out sooner. I also wish it was my birthday and Saturday morning every day. :wink.gif:
