Hello everyone! I've noticed A LOT of recent posts about which is the best recording software to use for recording Minecraft videos.
I highly recommend using FRAPS, as it is a great screen recording software, and has a free and premium version. If you have money, and can spare cash, FRAPS is right for you.

Now, I can already see that people will start complaining about the file sizes being HUGE. On average, a 5 minute video can be anywhere from 3-6 gigs in file size. This is TOO large, and will take forever to upload to YouTube even after rendering using programs like Vegas Pro. For decreasing the file size incredibly, I recommend using a program called VirtualDub. What this program does is renders your videos using codecs, which greatly decreases the file size. Here is an example below, show from a 1 minute Minecraft video I made using FRAPS:
Before using VirtualDub:
After using VirtualDub:
As you can see, it changed the file size from 443 MB, to 10 MB, which is AWESOME if you ask me.
If you want to download this program and try it for yourself, you can visit it here: VirtualDub
If you need some help using this program, check out this video:
This WILL not decrease your quality unless you use a bad codec, which might even make your clip size LARGER. I recommend using the Xvid MPEG-4 Codec, which works fairly well in keeping the quality, and reducing file size.
I hope this clears up any questions anyone has about recording software good for Minecraft! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. You can also contact me via Skype if you wish: Float4life

Intresting...Doesn't change to quality and the file's size is much smaller? I will keep this in mind. Thanks for the troubles anyways!

If you use better codecs than the one I use, it can actually improve your quality. In the video tutorial, it actually shows you a codec that makes it HD quality, and still decreases the size, and you are very welcome!

I got MC Premium! I'm a happy supporter of Notch, and of Minecraft.
Also guys, you have to be careful when rendering videos in programs like Vegas Pro, and Windows MM, as they use their own codecs to render videos, which can make the file size LARGER.
