I can easily say what needs improvement (in my opinion.)
I know that Minecraft is not real life and this is not the official or final model, but anyway...
-Body should be MUCH flatter
-Antennae should be added, and tails should be longer.
-"Cheek" blocks should be removed, and eyes should be flattened.
-Legs should have much less segments. Two or three should be good.
I hope there are jungle biomes in the adventure update. If there are, these buggers could spawn there and attack in swarms! They'd be quick and jumpy, but have very little health and do little damage, but run in large groups.
This is an image I generated from the Silverfish.png that was provided for us in 1.7.
The image was created over about 40 minutes of constructing what the Silverfish looks like based on its model textures. I am about 85% sure the body is about right, but the legs did not give enough detail to go by, so I winged them based on the pixels provided. The model is shown to scale in game, based on the size of its pixels vs other ingame entities like these grass blocks.
The models were built in Google Sketchup.
I could be wrong but, it seems like the model you made doesn't fit the skin provided.
The Red represents the part i think may be missing from the original skin image
You can tell that it's fake.
1. There is no background
2. Why would Notch add stupid insects
3. They don't add to the Minecraft experience.
Speaking of experience, does anyone know what month the adventure update is coming?
He said that it was made in Google sketchup based off of the /mob/silverfish.png leak. Read for once.

We know nothing about them, so how do you know they dont "add to the Minecraft experience"?
has anyone ever actually questioned whether this is legit? Yes, it's in the .jar, but Notch doesn;t want to give away the details of 1.8, and this would bea pretty big spoiler. I don't believe that this is the actual new mob, but red herring to make us stop questioning the mob. If that isn't proof enough, then let me ask you this: Doesn't this sound like sometihng that notch would do?
That is horrific. Well done, sunflower on constructing this monstrosity! Although I believe it's more likely aflatminer's version is what we'll see. (So wrote someone who has absolutely no idea how this works.) Only because the mobs thus far are very basic, and your vision seems to have too many parts.
Bloody hell, it does make you wonder what this thing will do when it appears...

The skin png isn't fake, that was added to the /mobs folder in the 1.7 patch.
Second of all a silverfish isn't a fish. It's a bug that acts similar to a termite.
Third of al if you bothered to read the post this is a custom made 3D model.
Just wanted to point that out.
P.S. Great jod on designing the silverfish by the way I would love to know how ya did it.

Oh wow your an idiot, he went into the jar file with something like 7-zip and found the file you can even check yours, theirs no background because its just the mob laid out like when your making a skin and he decoded what it would actually look like and added the blocks as a background to show there size.
Comparing that to this

(Look at this image. It manages to make an insect-like creature with segmented legs, without looking like crap http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/6721/ironmaggotrender.png)

I guess I can see it. I was hoping for an actual fish though.
Silverfish are NOT fish.
they're insects.
they only have fish-looking tails.
(starting to get really annoying)
But silverfish are a type of insects, how could you.. never mind.
Oh, and this is probably the "scary mob"! I mean, at least to me, silverfish are pretty damn scary.

And yes hopefully the wont eat wood and paper products lol :angry.gif: :angry.gif:

"Silverfish" is a common name for a particular species of insect: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverfish
The mob file is in the .jar. Thats proof enough.

There in the minecraft jar file but not in game yet so they'll probably be in 1.8 not to mention he said that there will be at least 1 new mob
