Hmm... To be honest I was expecting it to be a silver fish rather than the insect. The model doesn't really look like either, though.
Hmm, I think the jury is still out on this one. :wink.gif:
You reunited the O.J Simpson jury for this? God, what dedication.
How could anyone doubt that this is an insect and that it is based off the book-eating pest? We have the texture, sunflower did a great sketchup of it and it is clearly the pest.

My Grandmother passed away on Sunday, the 7th of August, 2011. I am taking an extended leave of absence in light of this. My apologies.
No, you were not acrophobic to spiders. You were arachnophobic. Acrophobia is a fear of heights.
Anyway, I really hope these things do eat wooden blocks. I've gotten bored of Minecraft lately because it's just too easy since you can just sit in your house all night or skip night altogether with beds. I have a feeling they will be passive, but still eat your house and let other mobs in. Of course, people will just stop using wood for houses if they do eat wood.
You're close, but judging from the size of the rectangles in the .png they're supposed to fit together as boxes. You fit them together as squares, painted the empty space inside them gray, then used the parts that would have been the ends of the box as more boxes.
All I can say about these is.... crap. Luckily I make my houses out of smoothstone and cobblestone, and favor lava moats :tongue.gif:. BUT, I can imagine these things around water (since I've seen silverfish before irl, they like darkness and dampness) and in caves. So as we all know, deep underground in minecraft, we find caves with water and a lot of juicy resources... prepare to fight for your resources against more than skeltons and green genitals. And people who think they're a fish.... wtf..... Just because a Silverfish has the word "fish" in its name doesn't make it aquatic. They're called silverfish because they're silver and found in damp areas. IF you looked at the scientific name, you could definately not say "HEY THAT'S A FISH!&8w68bdijklnwod" and badger people for thinking otherwise. These will most definately be found in caves, but I wouldn't be surprised to find them near water in thick forests as well..... either way, I'll be afraid. Also it says they eat BOOKS, so protect those bookshelves.
Now i got scared...INSECTS IN MINCRAFT! Ahhhhhhhh!
However...nice. But i guess it will look different. This just looks stupid. :|
Now we would have our second insect ingame. :happy.gif:

good job though
Actually, with the new NPC villages, I've always imagined that it would be humans, like the mod.

If these things are what they look like, I'm going to be shitting bricks.
Ah well, I've been hoping for more insects in Minecraft for a while.
And apparently it's "scary-" will it gnaw through blocks?
Spiders should attack silverfish too.
So this may or may not be the "scary monster" we're expecting.
I personally hope it's ghosts or bats or something.
And I am happy that my house is either made of rock or inside a cave for this little blighter right here.
Coming soon: Nintendo World Resource Pack
...What's the first one?
technically spiders aren't insects...they're arachnids
Spiders are not insects.
