This is an image I generated from the Silverfish.png that was provided for us in 1.7.
The image was created over about 40 minutes of constructing what the Silverfish looks like based on its model textures. I am about 85% sure the body is about right, but the legs did not give enough detail to go by, so I winged them based on the pixels provided. The model is shown to scale in game, based on the size of its pixels vs other ingame entities like these grass blocks.
You can tell that it's fake.
1. There is no background
2. Why would Notch add stupid insects
3. They don't add to the Minecraft experience.
Speaking of experience, does anyone know what month the adventure update is coming?

It may possibly be smaller, but I based the size on the size of its pixels vs the size of the pixels of blocks. If it is smaller, that means the pixels must also be smaller.
I am not sure do I like them or not... But if notch adds those I hope that he will make them little smaller.
I felt same when I saw first pictures of ghasts.
Nah I like them the way they are. Imagine dozens of these things coming at you, and if they have the right sound effects, these could definitely be the scary mob.
Laughing so hard at all the people that don't understand the guy took the image and rendered a model example of it...aka people who have no logic/can't read.
They do look like a nice new mob as far as I'm concerned though.
They definitely look interesting, but they don't exactly look to me like they fit in the normal Minecraft world. I wonder if Notch is planning on adding them to the Nether, or maybe even the Sky Dimension.

The models were built in Google Sketchup.

They look strange. Where did you find that?

1. It is not the "actual" game, but rather how they would look based on game textures and scales in a game setting
2. Ask Jens, he made them
3. I don't know, but the texture is in you .minecraft folder, go look before you call it fake

I made the model in Google Sketchup, since it is a fast modeler for things like these.

True, Google Sketchup is pretty handy for, well quick "Sketchups" :wink.gif:
edit: btw, did you just update your first post with the Google Sketchup info?...if not, I'm definitely blind...
I did- I thought I had listed the program I used, but then I added it later when I realized I did not and people wanted to know.

Those models look good, I just sure hope thats not how they will actually look! =P

Are they gonna start eating my wood/books/paintings ingame? That'd be so annoying.
