I like the update. Using the map I can calculate how long my minetrack is.
I've yet to see the tall grass, and with the sped-up power rails I actually have no need for the glitch booster. I also have yet to craft any hatches.
So...I don't see why anyone wouldn't like it. :unsure.gif:

Agreed. Just wait he will fix everything. Its not like he doesn't care about his players.
His "fixes" are what's making the game worse for me. The 1.6 "fixes" broke all of my mob elevators, water traps, and all but eliminated any value of my automated mob farming systems.
Bugs are bugs. They don't bother me since I know they'll get fixed. But these "fixes"... I have no way of knowing if they'll ever be changed (back?) to my satisfaction.
Yes I can see it now! Instead of inventing boats, early humans invented trap doors and only trap doors! Those boats are so main stream, anyways. Trap doors are hipster and cool.
Boats? Who needs fast water travel across oceans instead of bouncing in water fruitlessly? Not me, nosiree!
If you couldn't tell that was sarcasm.
Yeah, because the boats were ever fast and mobile in the first place. It's not like they won't be fixed, and what on earth do early humans have to do with minecraft? We get a bunch of new stuff to play around with, and all people can do is complain about stuff. 3 patches in the first day say they are working on these things. Now, if you want to actually post something relevant, then I'm up for continuing this.
It seems to me some people are missing the point of why there are so many complaints about the latest 'bug' fixes. For me personally I never used the water elevator as it just seemed like too much effort for what it achieved. I made one to try it out and left it at that. Same goes for the old rail boosters. Seemed like a lot of hassle to ride in a cart, especially as animals got in the way unless you enclosed the entire line.
I much prefer the new boosters, while the loss of water elevators is a non issue for me. That being said this game is not just about me, its about the entire community of Minecrafters. One thing I did appreciate about the old boosters and water properties was the miriad of ideas that came from all the inventive people out there. Hours of fun watching video's of what they had acommplished. All the fabulous workarounds people have come up with to make things etc. The latest I've seen is the making of obsidian from redstone. Clever clever people. Now it wouldn't surprise me to see that aspect of the game removed under the 'glitch' rule.
The thing is it seems to me Minecraft is being dumbed down for the masses. Simple booster rails that require little or no effort to make. The flair is gradually disappearing from Minecraft with each new update. We are gaining more simple to make and use stuff while those things that required flair and a large learning curve are being removed. This latest update represents exactly that. New simple items added, more complicated crafting removed in the name of bugs.
I just wonder why we can't retain both? 1.5 worked well. Surely adding a couple of items to Minecraft didn't 'break' the existing system without the removal of what we already had? What I love about minecraft is its ability to surprise me when I 'find' out something about it I never thought was possible. I lament the removal of workarounds in the name of 'glitches'. Before long all we'll be able to do is design a standard world with nothing that isn't laid out in a simple format.....

Not for everyone. Some people are having more issues with the bugs that were added than the bugs that were removed.

Actually, that post was before 1.6.5
