Yes, I'm looking at you, guy who doesn't fully cut down any of the trees he harvests. You too, guy who leaves random currents in the water everywhere. And especially you, guy who builds 1x1 dirt towers everywhere and doesn't remove them later.
You're not as obsessively tidy as I am, and god, do I hate it.
Minecraft General, take this opportunity to discuss your personal SMP grievances. We'll make it a PSA.
Edit: Because tone is difficult to express through text, allow me to point out that my tongue is firmly lodged into my cheek, here. I don't actually rage at these things, but they are irritating, no?
On creative servers one of my pet peeves is 5x5 block diamond pyramids...
It's like almost every <13 year old HAS to make one on every server they go on. They are gaudy, ugly and unimaginative.
On Survival it's those lil needy hopeless people who bug the mods to spawn items and TP them everywhere and always ask for their crappy buildings to be protected.
Also there's spawn point builders. It clutters up the area where new players will enter we don't want the 1st thing a newcomer sees is your crappy wood shack. On top of that, when a greifer comes to town what's the 1st thing they're gonna see. Yep thats right your crap shack they will then proceed to dismantle it while you cry for the mods to intervene or protect. Which they wont because you built at spawn and the mods probably recon the greifer is doing them a favor.
It's why I end up avoiding SMP. The floating treetops, the water currents, oh and the random blocks of randomness such as wool that people use to reach high-up places.
Oh hell, I WOULD NEVER do anything he said, that stuff drives me insane!
Well I didn't mean 'you' in particular, metaphorical you.
I mean you said other people don't have the same OCD, well.. what i said kinda goes along with that, why build if you're gonna make everything else look 10x worse to make your grubby little shack.
Me, I'm pretty picky about how I leave stuff, even on my single player worlds, hahah. Like literally sometimes when a creeper explodes i make it a point to fill in the hole so there isn't a big gap in the big grass field next to my base.
I'd like to add logging undeveloped areas without replanting to the list. What you mentioned is what makes me want to strangle someone. And creeper holes. I always have to fill them up.
If any senator wishes to read this, I suggest a SUSA bill. Stop United States Act. If the internet needs to babysit your lawmaking, Then there's something wrong.

No kidding. How many saplings do you get from 1 tree on average? 2-5? More than enough, all you need to do is stand there for a minute and right click.

I used to leave the tops of mega trees, however now I usually burn them (as long as there are no other trees to spread the fire around). The new map my sever is on has nothing but megatrees which is really annoying.

The next time an authority asks me, "What could possibly have given you such a lack of respect for the value of human life?" I will respond, "Sir, have you even BEEN to the internet?"
Good to see I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by all these things. The only thing I don't do is fill in creeper holes. There are reminders to times where I got stupid and let a creeper sneak up on me.
I haven't seen this one that often but people who don't evenly collect snowballs. By that I mean there would be random blocks covered in and not covered in snow in a snow environment.
As for the spawn prison-town, wouldn't it make more sense both aesthetically and practically to place it underground? I've never had a server but if I did it would just be between a circle of friends, but one that's more open I think would and should seriously consider it. Heck, if you really wanted to I'm sure you could beautify it by making the walls and ceiling sky-like and the ground dirt/grass just lined by bedrock.
I kind of hate it when people take from my mob trap and don't leave a fair payment or a portion of the items in the chest I clearly labeled "put sweet loots here".

I hate mob traps in general, as you don't actually do anything for the items, just stand in place for an hour. Might be more efficient than actually going out and killing the enemies, but it would be like a cobblestone generator just giving you the drops without damaging your pick, or you even having to be near your computer.

True. But I just occasionally go down and check if there are any drops if I see something fall in.

I'm not above making "dark rooms" for when I do need materials dropped from creatures, but when I see giant areas made to get free monster loot I have the urge to screw them up, or trapping the loot area so if someone runs in to get the loot, they die instead. The main difference is in my dark room, I still have to kill them. There isn't some drowning trap while I sit safe behind a wall. Its not like the monsters are insanely hard either, just pay attention to what they are doing and you are fairly safe.

or the kid who thinks he is original by making a really short fugly cobblestone fortress and calls it a castle. Castles look good, forts look ugly and bad.
There is always the person who tries to make a circle and can't, so they either make a fail circle, or bug people to show them where to find a tutorial for it....and you tell them Start>programs>ms paint>circle tool>zoom tool

So you say 1.4 is fail because you don't know how to update your server? WTF
Thats like saying all cars fail because you don't know how to put gas in them.

Make a spawn prison, make sure they read the rules, then let them through.
Why would you build on a server just to leave it shittier looking when you leave then before you got there? May as well be a griefer.

Another one I hate is when you're on a server with a player list addon and people still ask who's online.
Get some dirt, get up there and chop the damn thing down!
This is why I play SSP.
