Hmm... I'm not sure if you understood it right. With the second part I was going against those who say that if modders want to get paid for their time spent working on a mod then they should get paid for waiting 5 seconds not going with them. Sorry, I might have phrased it wrong but yeah. Final point is that i'm not at all against those who use adfly.
oh ok thanks

What's better? Building sand castles of understanding and compromise that will fall to the slightest wind of change? Or will you build your beliefs with steel and remain immovable against the elements?
A lively debate. Last time I tried to get a map and got popped over to adfly, they installed a downloader which I have no reason to trust, and sure enough, all new tabs and searches in my web browsers now come up with the pretty-much-malware Conduit Search page. So no, I will not go to adfly again. It's insulting to everyone involved to get $5 per 10,000 hits of inflicting unfiltered garbage on your users.
Other thread: no, Mojang should not get all revenue from everyone else's work. Does Adobe own all your art because you used Photoshop to make it? Nor should people make money from Mojang's work without some kind of agreement. But neither side exists without the other. Some reasonable license fee maybe, but there's an important partnership here. I find it amazing that so many mods and maps and servers exist with revenue effectively stifled. But Mojang already got my money, so it doesn't matter what I think. Just kidding. What do I think? I thank Mojang for a seriously powerful game engine and endless hours of fun. But let people partner up and make money (without having to dredge pennies from malware) and this empire of blocks will grow so much more.
Donationware is a hard hard road to go. But hey, money where my mouth is, I just sent $5 to the maker of my favorite ore processing mod. Even though I'm financially screwed in so many ways. Usually the most I can do is make videos showing how awesome the mods are. ;-)

Stuff like adf.ly doesn't bother me, simply because I have a simple solution: spend 2 seconds clicking the little red "x" on the tab or window. Problem solved. Of course, it even makes me glad adf.ly is around if the mod or whatever that I just downloaded is good and I believe the creator could use the support.
note: Then I mention a group of people in my posts, i mean the majority of information i have seen from that group, and my statement may not be accurate for every individual in that group.
