If any senator wishes to read this, I suggest a SUSA bill. Stop United States Act. If the internet needs to babysit your lawmaking, Then there's something wrong.
None of you who debate against using adf.fly do not deserve the mods! So ungrateful, they put in time to their mod coming straight out of their lives, and all you guys complain about is waisting 5 seconds to give them a little back for their hard work.
I deserve to be compensated for the time I took to write this post.
Seriously, it clearly says, and said, in the ToS, and the Alpha ToS, that any plugins belong to you and you can do anything with them, like sell for money.
Read the post where I clearly talked about it. I am not going to repeat myself anymore.
does your bank account decrease when you veiw an ad, no...so you get it for free, in the same way you get mojang for free, you still have to dl it and it eats your dl limit, and if you dont use all your dl(unlimited) why does it bother you?
also you sound slightly trollish like a carachature of what betas think of alphas (anyone else notice?)
Also, I told you I paid for the game in alpha status, and I can have any part of it, modified or not, with no extra charge.
We Alpha purchasers can have any part, modified or not, that is produced by Mojang, free of charge. Our contract-of-sale with Mojang does not, and can not, impose any Duty or Limitation upon third parties who were never part of the original offer.
I have the same code, but modified. It's still Mohjang property, so It's legal, sorry.
**** the ethical implications! I find **** like this very annoying.
Like foreign outsourced telemarketers! They ring you up at the worst times speak incoherency at you about X product then you go "whahh? No thanks..." and hang up in frustration.
For all you know the phone operator could be some poor guy in Bangalore trying to feed, cloth and educate his kids and look after his wife. Amiably working hard and long to claw ones way out of poverty and live in middle class bliss so many of us take for granted in developed nations.
But in the end, does that really make it less annoying to have your life interrupted just so some company can sell you something you most likely don't want. No it ****ing doesn't, petty as it is it's the truth.
It's the same deal with adfly.
Sure it really takes nothing from you but it's still ****ing annoying to be imposed on. Don't you modders realize you run the risk of discourage your users? or are you that confident in your mods content that you think people will tolerate such a desperate grab for cash. Also Looking at some of the posts about what you actually get from adfly you are pissing off your users for mere chump change. I dunno but I find it very unwise, asinine and counterproductive.
Also you run the risk of infecting other computers with malware by proxy of adfly. Not all of us reprobates are savvy enough to use a convoluted OS like Linux. Where the only thing protecting it is it's un-standardized nature. Leading to script kiddies who code viruses to go "0_o Whaa? me canot do, me bug MS usea!". And there is no such thing as Mac gamer... (*trollface* jokes). Some of us are too dumb to see the faults in MS and are in fact content with the OS's performance.

No, you read my earlier replies to your posts. I already told you, idiot.

If you must use mods, only use those that don't use this.
If you must use a mod that uses this, learn some basic programming and remove it from the mod yourself.
If you don't want to learn, try and find someone who can do it for you.
I'm not opposed to people wanting donations for their work, but putting things in the mods themselves is not something I would ever accept.
We get blasted with ads everywhere else in the world.
I draw the line at it invading my gaming.
Google "EA", "Train Simulator", and "forced ads" to see how EA backed down due to public outrage at their plans to include an ad system to the game that would track which billboard ads you looked at in-game, and display further ads based on that information.
If people hadn't caused such a stink, it would probably be in every EA game by now.
Maybe someone should start a thread with a list of Mods that don't use ads, so people can make an informed choice.
Krush.
By your own logic, then go and program your own games...

No, that was not his logic.
By his logic, if the advertising (adfly) bothers you so much when downloading free, optional stuff, you should just not download it instead of telling modders to stop using adfly. Which is correct.
Yeah I did skim the thread, and my comment was off topic I guess. But why does it matter? I am not making a personal attack towards you, nor am I directing any arguments towards your set of beliefs. I was simply making a comment about that specific quote I referenced.
I personally believe that publishers of free software have no obligation to ensure that their stuff are ad free. I applaud you for making the decision to not succumb to this behavior in your own creations, but should simply be a testament to your own virtues and nothing more. What the author wishes to put in his/her own softwares is his/her own decision and he/she has no real responsibility to anyone. Both with donate links and ads, compliance is completely voluntary, no one is asking you to download the program, and the creator doesn't owe you anything.
Mod makers are providing the community with free services, and whether they are injecting either their software or the download links with ads is their own decision. If you don't like it, you are entitled to that opinion, but no one is forcing you to use their mods either.

by "by his own logic" i was referring to his logic in the post I quoted. Once again I have no interests in attacking his set of beliefs, and was simply making a comment about that one specific post. I agree with his other posts, and that's why I didn't say anything about them.
No, you read my earlier replies to your posts. I already told you, idiot.
Calling "idiot" to a person is not a good way to defend your arguments, but a nice way to earn enemies. I am not reading your posts, I am just ignoring and blocking you.
Ignoring other arguments and then telling the person to read your posts (to which he replied) is not a good way either.
If any senator wishes to read this, I suggest a SUSA bill. Stop United States Act. If the internet needs to babysit your lawmaking, Then there's something wrong.
If adf.ly actually *worked* I wouldn't mind so much. It's when, 2 times out of 3, the ad manages to block the actual link or replicate itself that I have problems.
1. you are a retard and click on the ads.
2. you are a retard and you dont realize your malware is causing viruses/pop-ups and not the website.
and 3. you dont want to give that random guy who links to youtube a dollar. which is the only good reason.
Why would I have malware? Seriously, blocking these sites is part of not having any malware on a computer.
I deserve to be compensated for the time I took to write this post.
You'd think that mod developers would do it for fun rather than for profit.

seeing as how these sites give you malware, you would be number 1. anyways.
No, you read my earlier replies to your posts. I already told you, idiot.
Not quite sure what you mean by "you would be number 1. anyways.", but either way, no pop-ups. :happy.gif:

Trust me, those words right there improved the IQ level of this thread immensely, all by themselves.
I agree... I just don't want to add anyone to my ignore list, because I think that people need a second chance. Here, I had to.
