Nonono. The interesting part about this is that he's going to get the supplies himself, although even with mods this is amazing. Only a genius could think this up, get the numbers and actually try it. It will take so long, but crazy.
Hey, do ghasts stay off on peaceful? Because it might be a good idea to keep 'em off.
Edit: Also, the server will almost most definitely crash if you're doing this multiplayer and try to go to the far lands. Take that into account.
One: Don't use booster tracks. Use a traditional bug booster. It will reduce the cost of booster tracks and redstone, and will go much faster throughout it.
Two: If you have 3 tracks on top of eachother at the same location, and get boosted all together, the minecarts will mvoe together without loosing momentum without being on tracks. Once it leaves the booster tracks, it will loose some speed, but after that it will have continous momentum. If there is a server I could give an example or a map with an example.
I hate to say it but, I'm having trouble doing anything without getting stuff blown up by creepers and dying. There are also far less ghasts on peaceful in the Nether. (I've actually been in the nether for hours on peaceful and never seen a ghast once. Cause its gonna suck riding on the track for several hours only to shoot through a hole a ghast made.
this is interesting. it would be cool to go to the far lands, but think about how much time it would take to gather all of the items needed? you would have to use INVedit or single player commands. i'm not complaining, all i'm saying is that it would be a ton of work.
...even if you ride by minecart, you'd still have to place all the tracks to the far lands, thus making the minecart redundant.
the point of the rails is so that if you die or someone new joins he she you can quickly get to were the construction is going on at.
Also Since someone volunteered to host a server dedicated to this abitious project. i have decided not to dig my onw single player tunnel to the farlands at least for now. instead i am going to build at the end on my tunnel i was diggin the ultimate escape proof prison and by that i mean as escape proof anything in minecraft can be. I think it will be pretty cool maybe i will make a thread dedicated to its progress.
INVEDIT and single player commands is for noobs. Pros use TooManyItems :biggrin.gif: Invedit: *close minecraft, open program, load inventory, save items, load minecraft, load world, no mod items either* SP commands *memorize or use id list either way is stupid, use tons of long commands* TooManyItems: *Open Inv* *Click Item* :biggrin.gif: Seriously, its getting annoying seeing poor souls using invedit, which is SUCH A PAIN TO USE

Even with the nether it is impractical. that sucks. Beside, you would have to walk out there with materials and then go back, then go out again. So It would take you 5 days then just to get back to the start and then go to the edge again.
