I'm curious as to how this project is coming along. I would love to see it finished. I would also like to help work on it. But evil real life loves to put a stop to that.

Clicking on her makes me happy, and keeps her alive.
You wouldn't want to kill a poor little dragon would you? You monster?
Just letting you know, you can alternate between powered rails and detector plates for an automatic road with no redstone torches. It's what my servers road system will be running on.
If you ever managed to get to the nether far-lands, you could build a portal just out side the far-lands, allowing you to get to the far-lands in the overworld!

The statement below is true.
The statement above is false.

God, that will be so freakishly far from your main base though.
Ok no one has said anything for almost a week now. i feel its my civic duty to keep this thread alive.
I mean honestly has anyone ever concieved a minecraft project this epic before.
OH i just realized how you can get hundreds of people to help with this project.
Check Out docm77's minecraft universe tour. he does tours of minecraft servers that are epic but i bet he would do one of this because were headed for greatness. everyone who see's this thread should PM docm77 and ask him to show off the server on his channel.
He pretty popualar so i am sure that it would lead to alot of people wanting to help out.

The trouble is, when you make detector rails you use 6 iron to make 6 rails as opposed to 16 normal ones. Granted, you save 5 units of redstone dust in doing so (as opposed to using redstone torches), but it's kind of a waste of iron, which is probably the more valuable resource in a project like this.
Has anyone considered a Hybrid Rail-Portal system using the advantages of precision placed portal-pairing to allow quick 'backwards' (or forwards) travel to the start or end points ?
e.g.
Having a central "railway" with paired-portals on either side (less than a chunk away), with each set having a 'direction' - (one set goes forwards, the other goes back).
This would ideally allow resupply quickly from the main base, and allow people to get to the Construction-end much quicker.
I love this line. Make it sound as though you are off to face Cuthulu. Though considering how the farlands look he might very well reside there.

You will probably have to build glass on top of the entire track to keep pigmen from spawning/moving on it.

I Reject Your Reality and Substitute Minecraft!
