ya its supposed to be abandoned so I've read it was gonna be used to set another spawn but beds came around (AND I'M THE HUGEST FAN OF THOSE!!)

It was going to be a spawn change obelisk. It was to be called "Bleeding Obsidian" or "Crying Obsidian". Jeb abandoned it.

Now it's totally irrelevant, due to the bed thing.
