So the current tweet means achievements and stats are not getting in the current update.
That means we get wolves and cookies, only cookies if what abnegation says is right.
This just proves notch is lazy. He only needed to code achievements and he failed. From what I believe 2 weeks are long enough time to code in achievements, especially if you got a team behind you.
To respond to ataixi, I got the game originally in June of last year, and then played a lot more come November when a lot of my friends bought the game. I got to see it really take off and got to enjoy it and convinced my friends to buy the same reason I had: Notch working his ass off, putting out new content, making the game great.
Fast forward a few months: Notch hasn't done a thing and has left it to Jens who can only add new things by running it passed Notch.
Also: your right, we are paid customers.
Well, here is something for you:
Please note that when you buy the game, you're paying for the game as it is right now!
Updates are bonus, but you bought the game as it was then.
somehow i fail to see how notch is being "lazy" as so many have claimed. yeah the updates have slowed a bit and he seems to be "vacationing" a bit more often, but how does that make him lazy? he could still be spending the same amount of time doing actual coding as before. don't forget, he isn't blogging or tweeting every single thing he does every day, so obviously he's being very selective about what he tells us. if he only tells us one thing in a week, it doesn't mean he only did that one thing. there is much much more going on behind the scenes than they tell us.
and lets not forget that he is trying to start and operate an entire freaking company while making this game. owning your own small business requires constant care and 12+ hour days, all the time, just to make it work. most businesses fail after just a few months because of the tremendous workload that goes with just having a business. to expect notch to put in 8 hours of coding right after doing 8 hours of other business work every single day is utterly ridiculous.

That is what i was trying to say all along, thanks!
I highly doubt Notch's job is as bad and you're making it out to be.
If it's so ridiculous to expect updates more constantly, explain the amount of updates up to September last year?
Why was he capable then but not now? It's inexusable, every excuse in the book has been used.

you have obviously never owned your own business (neither have I, but i did begin researching in an attempt to start one). are you aware of just how much paperwork is involved with the finances and taxes for even a tiny company? let alone one that sells content across many international borders?

Although we are very passionate about this project, we cannot guarantee that it will be completed - that's why we offer the discounted price When you purchase the game, you pay for it as it is right now. Future updates are an added bonus.
That was there when I got it back in alpha.[/quote]
Please note that Minecraft is currently a work in progress and NOT a finished product! The sandbox mode available right now. However, you may buy a discounted beta account today, which will also include the full game!
As we at Mojang continue to release more complete builds of the game, we will also be reducing the discount gradually until we reach the final version and full price of the product. So the earlier you buy, the better value you get! Am I the only one that finds these two lines contradictory?
It doesn't have to anything big, but he really needs to have a proper EULA drawn up, and not by whatever lawyers he talked to the last time.

Helps if you answer my questions instead of ranting off about my first line and ignoring everything else I typed.

ok then, please help me in understanding exactly where you stand on this issue. i'd rather not categorize you as "generic 'hates everything notch does'"
you mention that "every excuse in the book has been used". to me, excuses are the same as reasons. they only become an excuse when people refuse to accept them as a reason. so because you have rejected every attempt to provide you with a reason for notch's behavior, would you please tell me what you would accept as a valid reason?

again, what would you accept as "reasonable"? because so far i have gathered that "running an entire business" isn't considered "reasonable" by some folks

He isn't running entire business, he hired people for it.

No they're an excuse but they're never proven and are used as a last-ditch effort to defend a man that is glaringly lazy.
I don't hate everything Notch does, I hate his work ethic. It's pathetic.
You haven't provided me with reasons, unless your reasoning is UVE NEVA RAN A COMPANY HOW DO U KNOW, then yes, you have given a reason although very poor reason.
The only valid reason is that he is lazy. Everyone else in their line of work has to work. There isn't all this time for vacations and timeoff, even for game developers.
They're no different in everyone else in this world. When Notch created this company it's obvious he still treats it as a hobby which is unacceptable. He's in the real world now he's in a company, he needs to start adjusting to it.
So, you are saying that other company founders & owners dont take as many vacations as he does?
*laughs*
They don't blog about it provoking the masses.
True, because no one cares about them, Notch is close to the Minecraft community and people care.
Show me another game that the founder and players are so close?

He is the founder therefore he is running a business.
He might of hired people to help him, but at the end of the day his word is the one that counts.
