DaBiggman isn't having a hard time as he is a realist and knows what is going on.
However I can't say you are one with reality at the moment, try taking off your rose-tinted glasses for a minute
DaBiggman is very upset.
I am not upset.
And they're RED-CYAN TINTED and I NEED them to PLAY MINECRAFT in 3D!!!
Okay now maybe I'm upset :tongue.gif:

Where is the effort Notch ALONE put into this game pre-August? He has an entire company now, but actually puts out LESS content now then he did before.
I'll agree with that. I do want Notch to do better.

personally i think whats frustrating here, is that there are modders out on these forums that could take this game and make it worth SIXTY BUCKS in a months time.
imagine giving an Office to these guys(provided it doesnt take 2 months to get remodeled first.......) and PAYING them to do things for Minecraft.
(Please look over the mods section if you have not.)
With the way Notch is going, ill agree with ranters....
This game is worth exactly what i paid, and better stay that way.
It's not that atiaxi, I actually do enjoy the stats and achievements, I just don't believe that it's the two months worth of effort we as paying customers deserve. This brings me back to my statement back in December: Where is the effort Notch ALONE put into this game pre-August? He has an entire company now, but actually puts out LESS content now then he did before.
My apologies about the achievement thing, then, for some reason I thought you weren't a fan.
I'm somewhat curious, if you'll indulge me. I'd start another thread and make a poll but I don't especially want to start yet another flamewar: When did you buy Minecraft?
I ask because I got it shortly after the secret Friday updates stopped coming. I can't help but wonder if the reason you're expecting a ton of work like he did back before August is because you got used to the large amount of work he did back then.
I mean, and I'm talking about Mojang as a whole now, we've actually got it pretty good right now. Monthly updates for a game that you don't have to subscribe to isn't exactly industry standard, after all. But if you're used to weekly updates and then suddenly everything drops off, I can see where that'd raise some ire. I'd like to do the poll to find out if there's any correlation between when people got the game and how they feel about the pace of development.
On a somewhat related topic, you say that we deserve more content as paying customers. I realize this is somewhat old ground I'm retreading here, but we're not paying customers. We're paid customers. We paid once, and that's it. Heck, for some of us we're never going to have to pay another cent again! I think expecting (for example) weekly updates to continue at a pace like before and not having to pony up any money for it is unrealistic.

This forum ticked me off so much I went to random.org and set my password to something I'll never be able to remember, then switched my password reset to a throwaway.

Yeah well for guys like DaBiggman (I'm guessing) and myself who bought the game middle of last year, we bought it under the belief that we would receive a complete game someday. Considering Notch doesn't seem to care for fixing glaring bugs like Nether being utterly absent in multiplayer, ****ed up mine carts, and an unstable authentication server, we're getting a bit concerned about this final product that we're supposedly going to receive. To compound matters, Notch has reneged on many of his "promises" in the past and even deleted the little spiel about funding development of Minecraft so he can work on it full time and provide a final version someday. We don't care about "weekly updates" so much, we just care that he fixes his **** rather than putting cookies and cake and Fable dogs in once per month so we can eventually play this great game without headache or the realization that we essentially bought the game at a time when the developer switched from making a game to developing subpar mod content for the same game.

Meh, go play WoW. You'll understand that even the best games/servers are broken (Blizzard makes every tuesday an official "You can't play" day.
That said I really wonder how much crap Notch and mojang would get if they didn't have the following they do.
But WoW is terrible and no one that worked on it was originally at Blizzard
Not to mention that the bandwidth that those servers handle is nowhere near the ballpark (or sandlot in this case) of a mere authentication server

People seriously need to lay off. Sure **** is ****ed up, but you try making everything perfect on the first go. No I am not blindly defending Notch, I think he has made a few retarded decisions (like Cocoa Beans only being in dungeon chests) but overall he and his new team have made for the most part a great game that is fun to sit down and play for a few hours.

TAKE DAT BACK!
No but any way, what i find funny is that Notch has been taking vacations ever since Cave game was released but somehow nobody complained but when the updates get abit longer, a flame war starts.
I'd prefer cocoa beans to come from plants too. I guess cookies are going to be super rare, though they're no golden apple.
Also that abandon-thread graphic is wrong because it's obvious even from the thread title alone that it's not going to be pleasant in here :tongue.gif:

I'm glad we aren't getting a new texture pack and mod breaking update every weekend now. If less updates mean the game is getting better fine I can live with that, I'm used to waiting for updates. I played Phantasy Star Online on the Original Xbox Online. And the main lobby was supposed to update with the seasons and new quests should have been added. I joined in December, I quit in July, It was still Christmas. It was $10 a month ON TOP OF Xbox Live Gold. So that was the most BS I have ever experienced so whatever Notch is doing is nowhere near as bad as what Sonic Team did to me. (And yes, updates were promised by Sonic Team in the user agreement.)

Sometimes a rant can be informative and well thought out. I like to consider the otherside once in a while. But this is retarded.

I'm so glad that I bought Minecraft for what it was when I bought it.
Yes I do like updates and yes I do wish Notch would work harder but at least I'm able to be satisfied with what I do have.
Also it means I can sit on the fence between rabidly defending or attacking Notch and either disagree or agree with either side as it suits me, so I can troll at will.

I can't code for whole 6 hours without taking a break. I also can't work for two weeks straight - I need a few days off. His vacations actually make his work more productive.

Notch also doesnt own the forums.
Just sayin'.

Wouldn't that be because he doesn't exactly need more funding to be able to develop Minecraft?
