Since the recent update, seeds have made it possible for two people to generate the same world by entering the same seed. I was wondering if anyone wanted to start a new world and use the same seed as myself and anyone else who wishes to. That way, we could play on the same world, in the same place, but not actually be playing multiplayer. This could be useful for when Minecraft.net is down.

Or just play on an offline mode server. It requires certain client modifications that can't be posted here, but I'll take doing things in a slightly less than legitimate way if it means I can play on the server I'M HOSTING whenever I please. Having skins while doing so just requires a little windows trickery...

You dont need Minecraft.net to play online...
Yeah you don't need the Minecraft servers, located at Minecraft.net, to play online.
That wouldn't make ANY sense.
You dont need to download the files all the time when you're going to play online. Just have them on your pc...
