well, hello minecraftforums, here i am going to post a game me and some guys at esrock found a year ago, it has been a lot of time since then, and today i decided to post a thread about this game, i did not post at the beta section since it both belongs in creative and survival, and actually its the funniest game i have played IN minecraft.
Start
This game was born pretty much by accident, while me and some guys at the creative server "esrock +ophax" were messing with /door, soon enough someone stepped over an 1x1xX(you choose the height) tower, instead of breaking it we decided to push people off, and found out it was pretty fun, just enough to start thinking on rules, how to do an "arena" for the game, and how it will be pretty much played, right now i call it the "esrock official sport."
Rules
The rules are pretty simple, and you can pretty much get on playing easily once you discover how-to, the rules are pretty much
1. do not change any blocks while playing
2. disable hax (creative)
3. try to push people off the stick
4. (this one only applies in survival) no punching
5. no crouching
once you get them, you can start playing right away, and usually when you fall there is either lava (hot_lava on creative) or a portal block that teles you out, so you better unnequip your items if you play it on survival
Objective of the game
The objective to the game is pretty much... well... push people off the stick, i find it as a very fun way of PvP at minecraft without being killed by lag (beta)
Current arena design
Here i will pretty much explain with emotes all of the arena designs i have in mind right now,
which are two right now, feel free to post your own, and will update this one once i get an screenshot of both
First design:
Side view
this one if the first design i tried, pretty simple, usually with a way to get up on the walls, you can save yourself from death on this one, but i call that cheating, you can get here with portal blocks, or ladders if you are in survival
second design:

this is the design i use right now, i like it, you cant prevent death, and you can design it so people dont try to run away if you want, on creative you can use portal blocks to get there, but you can use ladders if you are on survival
End of thread
That is pretty much everything you need to know to get started on playing king of the stick, now post your comments, ideas, or even your interest on this game overall
if you feel like adding something, deletting, adding screenshots, suggesting your rules, or wathever the hell do you want, feel free to post.
Sounds fun! I hope I can try it with my friends (Survival)... if we get our server working... we dont even know what the flip is wrong with it...
oh well... we'll find a way
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
You know what would also be epic? A brain! First you put it in your head, then you use it!
Most people spawn with one but I guess you didn't because of a bug.
I think you should start a server and give us the IP to play this.
I mean , your sport is not popular enough ( like spleef ) , so people wont make arenas for it , you need to make it popular.
I will love to play , but i am too lazy to make my own arena and host it on a server.
well, its true, which was why I posted here on a first place, so far I have only played it (from LONG ago) on classic, and so, survival rules are not really tested yet.
