It's not a matter of opinion. XD This is a fact-only type of topic. It's not about them being slow. It's about them being slower. You can't deny that we're getting updates slower, now, than we were, say, this time, last year.

Slower, yes.
Better, yes.

first, it's been some really busy 4 months or so. they pushed for the last updates to get out before GDC.
i would rather see "stable" updates then fast less stable ones. but it would be nice to see stuff like a couple of new mobs/items/furniture ect. per week. even if they hold back a few to keep a trickle going each week. as long as they could do it in a way that avoids breaking the mods i think it would appease most of the mature people.
second, i think this saying says it all.
every night i go to sleep thinking that people can't get any stupider.
and every morning i wake up and am proven horribly, horribly wrong...
I`m used to slow updates from icefrog... on the other hand those updates pack a shitload of content , fixes and improvements when they come.
Anyway can`t really complain.
Why are your apostrophes all ****ed up? -.-;;
since I have the habit of holding down shift when doing apostrophes. On a side note what kind of guy would even care about something minor like this?
I mean caring for apostrophes is just weird as hell, worse then any kind of grammar nazi I´ve seen before.
....what? How the hell was I being a Grammar Nazi? In case you didn't notice, I said why are your apostrophes messed up. Obviously, I'm acknowledging that they're apostrophes, therefore there is nothing out of place. They're not wrong, I was just, honestly, curious why they looked like that. Excuse me for showing any interest. =/
And shift, at least on my keyboard, doesn't make them look like that; it makes a double quotation mark.
Let's look at some facts...
Over the past 3 months Notch has taken about a month and a half vacation.
The latest update was sloppy, and while it looks like it adds a lot of features, many of them look like relatively simple rehashed code.
The Mojang team rushes to update. Their slow work pace results in small updates (compared to the time they take) and their impatience results in them being buggy as hell.
So can someone tell me why people are defending Notch? Do you think he's going to dedicate a block to you?
Let's look at bugs or annoyances that are due to sloppy and inefficient code...
Slimes are invincible in SMP. Easily tested. Of course, though, they didn't even see a slime. They found one by looking for a mob ID using debug.
Wood slabs are destroyed with a pickaxe. Easily tested. Easily fixed.
Birch and pine trees don't conform to a foliagecolor.png, breaking the immersion of some texture packs.
Placing a slab doesn't displace items.
Paintings are a pain in the ass to flip through.
Snow regeneration is still active in the code (load an old map), yet it doesn't happen anymore.

do you know how to get to the Netherlands other than a portal
How about we post a complaint that's been posted a billion times before, and which has reached absolutely no resolution or agreement? I'm sure that this time we'll certainly change anyone at all's mind, because this is totally a real discussion that belongs on the discussion boards. It almost certainly won't lead to a flamewar like every other goddamn time.
You've been on these boards long enough to know better, OP.

This forum ticked me off so much I went to random.org and set my password to something I'll never be able to remember, then switched my password reset to a throwaway.
Well here is point of view from look at the first page of this post:
Who cares if he isnt updating more freqlently, sure im kinda mad at the rate of updates but less updates = more mods. so just enjoy the game, not whine about it.
i kinda sonud stupid but just a small post lol.

Truth. The person earlier in this thread who talked about Notch spending more time testing must have been joking. The updates are buggy as hell. One must wonder if they even play the game they are working on.
Honestly, I'd like him to just release the game to the community and let them do the work on it. We have modders up the wazoo who care enough to reverse engineer and add neat things. He can work with the top folks and put together a community governance board or something like that (so it's not a free-for-all) and then let it go and go work on Scrolls. I don't even mind that he doesn't care about MC anymore. But if he doesn't, he should let the people who do make it into the game that the community wants and expected.
My Spigot/CraftBukkit plugins:
TallNether - Generate a 256-block high nether
FarLandsAgain - Restores the Far Lands

Touché.
Fix'd up a bit, for my sanity.
