I don't know where you've got your idea of an NPC village(pigmen?), but colony mode is a Mode that you don't have to play anyways, and it would have human colonies? Lol

Actually, if you check out the big airship suggestion called "AIRSHIPS: new and improved." and my ornithopter suggestion, you will realize that flying methods of travel, or even combat, can be balanced.
Same with guns. The biggest reason that I see most people hating it for is the fact that it is a gun. If it were a crossbow that acted THE EXACT SAME WAY it would be supported.
I wouldn't want to see uranium or other radioactive materials either though. Most things I see for Uranium and other radioactive stuff is as a super fuel or a Nuke, which just does the same thing as about 50 blocks of TNT, which causes enough lag as it is.
i think uranium would be a bedrock on the sides of the world.
no nukes, tho.
and you were right.

Heh. Is giggling like a little girl the standard reaction? I think I missed the memo.
I agree, currency seems dumb in survival mode and oil is too modern.
I wouldn't go for healing spells though because theres food. If healing heals only minor, no one would use it. If it heals more, it'd make food obsolete. If it had a long cooldown, it'd be worthless and inconvenient unlike food.

I don’t want to see biomes that cause damage or make you thirsty or hungry . I don’t want to have to drink water in the desert or wear a coat in the snow.
I don’t mind having physical elements that cause damage when touching them, like cactus or lava. I also don’t mind blocks being able to affect you, like lava being able to catch you on fire.. I just don’t want to be hurt because I am in a biome.
Cars/guns/robots/more modern stuff (a jukebox? Seriously, Notch?)
Many of the mob ideas (some of them are cool though.) I mostly play on peaceful anyways though and i hate the current mobs already. It'd be cool with an option to turn certain mobs on/off so i could just keep the realistic ones (like those wolves Notch talked about once) and disable the rest. Fantasy is all good, but i feel that it doesn't fit Minecraft all that well. Hm, i wouldn't mind generic "normal" fantasy mobs like dragons and goblins and such, just not in the huge numbers that enemy mobs spawn in right now. It feels like a survival horror game, not a creative one.
Ruins, other pre-generated buildings etc.
As OP said, it's supposed to be YOUR (and your possibly the people that you play with) world. A feature that would make moss grow on cobblestone over a veeery long time would be neat though, if you could clean it again by hitting it or something like that.
A specific goal to fulfill. It's a creative game, why the heck would there be an ending goal? It just seems out of place and stupid.
Specific vehicles and other means of transportation. Mojang should implent some way to create your own though. I mean a way to make a collection of blocks move so you could design your own ships/airships/carriages/whatever.
Artifacts with special powers. Unless it's extremely rare and some sort of easter egg.
Apple trees being something rare and extraordinary just because apples are relatively rare right now. Guys, i can go outside in real life right now and pick an apple from a random tree in my backyard. They're not that big of a deal.
More "super foods." Cake and Golden Apples are ridiculous enough already.
A diving suit and/or a helmet that gives you endless air. A way to hold you breath longer sounds fine (for example a helmet...) but those two ideas are weird.
Being forced to go fetch materials from the Nether to craft a lantern. Do you think people did this in reality every time they had to make a lantern? No, because the Nether doesn't freaking exist.
Repairing. In the beginning i was all for it but then i realized that mining a huge tunnel would probably take a few picks so it seems decently realistic. It's alright if you can only repair a tool a few times or such though.
Minecraft on Steam, for obvious reasons (luckily this is never going to happen.)
RPG-ish races. Just no. In adventure mode, perhaps, if you could make your own or something.
Auto-walk/quick-travel etc. Nope, you lazy bastards.
Oh and by the way does gold absolutely have to have a practical use? It's pretteh! :biggrin.gif:
Can't think of any more at the moment.
EDIT: Villages. Same reason as the ruins. Don't do it Notch!
Hunger/sleep/disease (seriously, wtf)
Obsidian tools
Human NPC's
Villages
Abondoned 'player made shacks'
I don't care much for obsidian tools, hungersleepdisease just sounds like a pain when im trying to enjoy the game, abandoned player made shacks do sound like they'd ruin minecraft too.
Human NPCs would be pointless if they were just mobs or you couldn't interact with them, because it'd take away the feel of minecraft.
And im NOT talking about PREGENERATED villages.
But if you could grow your own village/colony with NPCs and stay within that medeival/colonial-type era and still do whatever you want like live peacefully or sack every colony you see etc,, then it doesn't take away the creativity.
Plus, you don't Have to play with these NPCs, they would be a whole new Mode, like the difference in Survival and Creative, thered be one like Colony/Colonial.
In FACT, many, Many of the ideas you guys are saying you don't like will NOT be implemented in ANY way, become JUST A MOD, or A SEPARATE game MODE.
Seriously, this whole topic seems like a waste of time, just a hole to throw complaints into. Not accomplishing anything by saying "that sucks"

List of things I dont want to see:
cars, nukes and other modern stuff. I think Minecraft is in the Renaissance era and the Industrial age, but just barely in the Industrial age. (I've been playing a lot of civilization recently XD)
crossbows/guns. The bow can already fire arrows at insane speeds. You can blot out the sunlight entirely if you had about ten people each with one bow and the rest of their inventory filled with arrows. Also, regarding rapid fire, you can already do that with dispensers, just attatch a dispenser with redstone to a rapid pulse circuit. I dont want crossbows because once you can easily kill things with bows and arrows.
space. it doesnt fit into minecraft in any way I see.
I would like to see sponges re-added though, and a source of light that doesnt melt ice. (gives off a light level of 11)
I don't really want to see magic, or any kind of flying. Except for maybe short-distance hang-gliding type flying. I generally don't want to see the game become about fighting things, it's about building things. Also no guns.

Check out my blog about all things Minecraft! http://minecraft-blog.com "The Unofficial Minecraft Blog"
The only place on the web where we promise to pork-chop you in the face and then give you cake!
Why do people keep saying that it isn't about fighting things?
ITS SURVIVAL! ITS A SURVIVAL GAME!
There will eventually be a classic mode for Beta! If you ask me, the SURVIVAL MODE should be amde to where you need to SURVIVE.
Take that into account before you start saying that certain things shouldn't be added.
I don't want magic in minecraft though. It just doesn't make sense to me, and is completely unoriginal. It's just too cliche, and calls for things like gold weapons to have special properties.
I do not want spacecraft or guns. Never guns. I would however like a way to fly. Any way is fine, but I do think that flying is a good idea. Also, flying doesn't really screw up the memory that much. Old computers SHOULDN'T be playing minecraft, because it IS memory heavy ANYWAY. The Mo'Creatures pack with the flying pegasus doesn't ruin the game for any computer as far as I know...
Any "enhancing" to the current crafting grid is a generally stupid idea. 2x2 grid, 4x4 grid... Lame.
Guns. Lasers. Space. We don't need nerfing anything (you just need to be more careful).
We don't need any special shaped blocks. We don't need overpowered/"next level" tools (like Obsidian, don't be silly). We don't need slaves to do our mining, we don't need cars, tanks, busses or the like.
We don't need "other" NPCs also digging and building in single player. It completely ruins the idea and feel for Minecraft, not to mention the horrible amounts of coding that is required to make it do that.
The things we do need, we'll get officially from Mojang. All in good time.

I would really like the idea of connecting carts to make a nice little train :smile.gif:.
OT: I would hate to see realism and anything extremely modern. No (easy to make not involving redstone) computers or tvs.
