Seriously, learn to sit there and read the purchase page:
"Please note that when you buy the game, you're paying for the game as it is right now!"
Meaning Notch is under no obligation to continue working on MineCraft just because you or anyone else has made a purchase.
Notch is busy with life and other stuff given that he just started the company and dealing with family events.
Comparing Toady's bug fix post and Notch's additional content post does not give Toady justice, you should have used 0.31.17 (posted 4 days before the one copied ITT), where it shows the latest content being added. Toady is a far better programmer IMO so there's really no comparison in my eyes.
Let me summarize for you what every g@*$%^!d post you're about to see is:

This forum ticked me off so much I went to random.org and set my password to something I'll never be able to remember, then switched my password reset to a throwaway.
He has created this brilliant game. For years he has worked on making it great.
but reading notches latest blogs i have came to realize mine craft isn't going to live up to it's potential.
MODS are doing better jobs of improving mine craft. yet he rufuses to even look at them because it might inspire him towards making somthing the same. modding supports about the only good thing he's mentioned aside from goblins villagers. now were lucky if we even get a decent update every 2 months. he has bought a studio, but now it seems more like a waste of money. He also said that he does not really look at the current mods that are available, because he does not want to be influenced by other people. That means that he probably does not read all the threads on this forums that provide good solutions to important gameplay problems. He doesn't really seem to care about what the community wants or community solutions to problems.
. I am not typing this because he went away on holiday I've had these thoughts for a while.
post your opinion on this matter. but give reasons don't just spam or troll
yep. minecraft is SO more important than his personal life

I don't think he is entirely letting us down, but he is not open enough to ideas from the community. I think he should embrace modding. There are so many ideas out there on the forums, he just needs to spend 10 minutes a day looking at the forums, and he will have things to add. I will even go as far as to say that he should let some of the top modders help him develop the game. With the creativity of the Minecraft community and the abilities of the modders, minecraft could become an incredible game. more incredible than it is now, even. Within a few days, if he wanted to, he could get permission from modders and add: a better lighting system, about 20 new mobs, bosses, nightmare mode, faster saving for chunks, elemental arrows, and so much more.
In the Coe's Quest live stream a while back, he said the nether was too boring. The forums have 9001 ideas to improve that! Listen to us!
Fin) I just ****ing love to read how some 12 year olds come to forum bashing everything as if they know how things work and what it requires. YOU DON'T KNOW ****! So shut your mouth and sit aside or go and learn what Notch is doing and I bet you will give up after the first few minutes of the very basics.
I like your anger issues. Coding in Java isn't that hard, Nor that time consuming. If he did 10 hours of work a week, he could add 1 new item to the game every few days. In addition, you would be the one to use all those nasty words on supposed "12 year olds". You, sir, have moral issues, and a horrible work ethic to boot. Good day to you.
Your right. None of you should be complaining about how he's letting us down. I paided for what it was in 1.2.6 and would have been happy if there was no change. But no, Notch added to it making it better. The people who bought it when it was indev most likely bought it for what it was then. If your not happy what with you got then throw it away.
I've played games where the dev team really didn't work on the game. A major update every month is fantastic. Especially since the January 13th update, the game is much more playable and entertaining, especially on multiplayer.
If you want a game that never gets updated, try Face of Mankind where you get "raised strength of burgers by %.5" every 6 months as an "update". Don't try telling me its like that here. Its obviously not. The last 6 months have improved the game tremendously.

This man knows what he's talking about. Another example would be Cortex command, we waited nearly 2 YEARS for an update, and there was hardly anything new in it and there were more bugs than before. So if you think you have it hard with notch ONLY updating once a month or so you are SORELY mistaken.

My issue lies in stupid people thinking they know what they are talking about.
I assume you are a professional Java coder then? If Java was really that easy how come I don't see internet flooded with more of these quality games? I mean, if it is really easy what stops people from their ambitions of creating a unique game? There are thousands of brilliant ideas out there.
And yes, this guy is also right, it isn't easy to make a game, it's actually very hard. and firefriend it seems you are only interested in more content? but what about bugs? optimising code? new features? do you are about any of those? could you really say you only care about content and wouldn't mind if there was never another bug fix? Because that is what it looks like to me.

Yeah I agree with that too. I think he may be reluctant to use ideas from this forum just because he's proud of the game he created and wants to do it all himself, in the way he wants to do it. Which is understandable. However, from a business standpoint, the best thing for him to do would be something like posting a poll on here saying "which mods do you want me to implement" and then use the most popular ones, because obviously if they're getting lots of votes, they'd be popular and would help the game sell more.
From our and a business standpoint, it is a good idea. From his it seems, too much work.

I'm pretty ambivilent to this methodology. Most of the ideas in the ideas section of the forum are terrible, the ones that are less terrible are generally a little over detailed and not really conforming exactly the the style of the game so far. I think the game will be better in a default state if notch just ignores it all and does things primarily his own way. Not to say that I don't ever want to see any of those ideas implimented, I just think the vast majority of them fit better into mods that will inevitably change the style of the game to suit the modder than they fit into the current minecraft. Most of the mods that we have already fit into that category too, they are good, but they don't fit into the style that minecraft already has.
It's bad business to bend to the whims of the customer base. All of us as a whole is dumber than any of us individually. Notch can come up with something better than a mish mash of random mods.
