In my minecraft 1.2.5 alpha i am always attaking the wiki for building things and i see charcoal, now in my map coal is pretty rare so i try to make it but it wont make charcoal even when i put coal under the wood block its not planks its a block someone please help xD

Only tree trunks will turn into charcoal when put in a furnace.

Granted if you're still running an alpha version that may also be an issue.

why dont you update?
i smell pirrats...
oh and you make charcoal with tree trunks....
