i've noticed that on facebook on the minrcraft page there are lots of user comments about minecraft-wiki.com/free/
where you supposedly can get minecraft for free.
Is this a scam , fake , or official
I'm thinking is a fake or scam as its not even the true minecraft wiki site.
and yet theres heaps of people being sucked in by it and even worse are even being prompted to post a comment on the minecraft facebook page promoting it as a step to getting it for free.
So what gives , is it as i suspact a scam / fake / ripp off / warez or what.
Can someone from the minecraft team please explain, and if it is't real try to stop it :wink.gif:
I gathered as much, but thers lots of people falling for it. you only have to look at the semi official minecraft facebook page that notch points us to, to see lots of people doing as the scam states. and because that are apearing on our real page people are being taken in by it
The staff of Minecraft should really do something about this , even if its just going through and deleting those comments.
or stating something officially on there
and because that are apearing on our real page people are being taken in by it
People should have the common sense to realise that a random person posting a comment on a real page can be trusted as much as someone posting a comment anywhere else. Unless an official person is posting about it then its obviously from some random person that isn't affiliated with Minecraft in any way shape or form.
ok i'll just give up and let the scamming / possible piracy continue. and give minecraft a bad name.. forgive me for caring and trying to stop it. I should have known better :sad.gif:
You can't stop it by posting on a forum that doesn't contain people who own the facebook page(Notch is never going to see this before you say he is a member of the forum). There are scammers for every game, it doesn't give a game a bad name because people are scamming other people. Alerting the owners of the facebook page is what you should do if you "Care".
Piracy has nothing to do with scamming. Piracy is a completely different thing.
Definite scam. The official Minecraft version can be purchased on the site, and played from there as well. Don't trust those "giving out Minecraft free" things.
They are scams.
RARELY, they have viruses.
But most of the other time, they promise to give you it after doing 1 survey, but no matter how many surveys you do you will never get it. Its called focus group surveys that give money to the host for getting you to do the survey.
