I am a die-hard fan of Deadmau5, (might be going to Ultra Music Festival 2011 and see him in concert!) and for that reason, I've decided to build a mau5 head in my world. I'm currently clearing out the land, but I was wondering. I've used circles before, a circle guide to be exact. Problem is, it looked more like a triangle, or a pyramid on an upside down pyramid (theres a name for it, but i can't remember...).

Anyone know how to build a mau5 head? I've tried, but it's hard. I also want eyes, and ears would be a bonus. Basically, a big round ball schematic.

Anyone got any ideas? Please and thanks!

Seems like the bigger you make it the simpler it will be to get "rounded" edges. Can also use dyed wool to simulate antialiasing.

Still haven't been able to get the eyes right though - also, although not shown hear, I installed torches all round the edges to simulate the mau5head features on deadmau5's newest albums (Looks sweet at night)

It took a bit of trial and error, but the head itself is a perfect sphere (with entrance through tunnels under the water). I drew the ears out on millimeter paper.. It took a few weeks in my dorm room and a bottle of scotch


I can take a few more pictures if interested (when my buddy's server is back up) :smile.gif:

OMFG, are you making that out of diamond blocks?

Do you remember how many blocks high (Just the sphere) it is and the diameter blocks? Like so one can make an internal frame (like a + sign) to start it off? From looking it looks like there is an uneven number of blocks that are made on all the sides So you'll always wind up with a center block, which is how I thought was the easiest wway to do it.

Have you figured out how to do the eyes yet? I'd like to see what you came up with. I'm working on a mau5head of my own. I have the sphere with no problem, it kinda looks like yours, but mine is made out of bloodstone "Netherrack" I'm having a major problem with the mouth though, lol. My ears are going to be a bloodstone frame with glass innards and you'll be able to walk inside them. The overall width of the ears are going to be 5 blocks [] []

That should turn out pretty cool. I'll make a thread about it when it is complete (just structure) than I'll work on the nightclub on the inside :smile.gif: Had a bit of a problem when I had it closed up even though there is a whole small chest of tourches dumped in the inside. Blew some holes in the bottom, than the main shaft, but I have recovered from it and dumped another two stacks of inside, lol.

The eyes are going to be either glow stone, or with underneath to make them glow :smile.gif: I'm having a real hard timne with the eyes as well as the mouth.
