No, I'm afraid I will have to request paypal to step into the matter, I had asked a few mods if they where able to get ahold of the owner, and they told me they been finding it quite challenging to get ahold of him, I had spoke in PM with multiple people who said they put refunds requests in months ago and to no prevail, not a single response to any emails, nor support responses...
As a Business guy myself, this really concerns and worries me, for all the new people, Minecraft is Wonderful, but the team needs to respond to us.. specifically those of us who gave money up to them so freely and willingly

I'd have such a laugh if he blogged about his paypal getting suspended because "he wuz so busy and couldnt find time to respond to refund requests".
I doubt it will get that out of hand though.
Notch needsta step up and deal with the issues he's having....If paypal drops him, Minecraft is a finished game. And that would suck cause I am very muchly looking forward to the finished product. But atleast even if Minecraft gets dropped, atleast can play offline indefinately haha.
Edit: to the person above me....Are you just that un-intelligent? I can't tell....This is where "priorities" come into play. He should be answering ANYTHING that has to do with paypal. That is his money that could be effected. No money = no developement. AND if he refuses refund requests, it WILL result in a class action lawsuit against his company. And poof will go all things Minecraft just because he "was too busy". He better do some overtime to ensure his company doesn't run itself into the ground.

Random insult is random? Thanks. I needed that to jump start my day.
Everything you said is what im already aware of, Thats what makes it funny. The refund request should have been taken care of in less then 24 hours, But it wasnt. I wonder if Notch even pays attention or cares, And it makes me wonder whos going to act first. Paypal or notch.
If its Paypal, I laugh.

Paypal has told me directly if they step in, theres a good chance they will do it, No ifs and butts, I have been doing business with paypal for many years, and they know I hardly ever request a reversal and every time I ever have done it, the account of said person got suspended until they jumped though a ton of hoops to get it re-activated.
I really hope it doesn't come down to this, but we will see, and I will cont to provide updates.

Thank you for the support I have behind this matter I will keep updating as I get more info
Its not about being testers at this point, its about being a respectable business and running a business properly, which Notch isnt even close to doing.
Every time I see your name, I think oh must be another bashing Notch thread. I understand he isn't living up to a lot of peoples expectations, but he must be doing something right since those people are here in the first place. Festering on the forums doesn't seem like the right way to ask for change. Emails, twitter, and maybe constructive posts do.
I did read some of the thread, but its jumbled state made it hard to do. Often when dealing with companies you have to keep trying to communicate with them. This game has tons of fans, but few employees to respond to them. (It's obvious you would rather flame notch and other people making suggestions though.)
There are still a few other options. IRC chat. (If you think he is avoiding issues it is hard to avoid them in a situation like that). The BBB(Not sure what the european version of this would be), and paypal disputes which it sounds like is being tried now.
I didn't see IRC mentioned anywhere, but who knows with this mess. The BBB is the Better Business Bureau. In the states and canada it helps keep all the companies in line. Just guessing that Europe would have something similar.
Its JUST 15$ I mean cmon, how poor are you to make such a big deal about it...
And I dont think he should do refunds, anyone can just say it doesnt work for them after theyve had their fun with minecraft and demand a refund.
Just leave this forum, then return when minecraft is finished, you will have tons of new stuff and a working game...
I'm sure they have a cut off date for refunds. If you have a legitimate reason for wanting a refund then you should be able to get one. Minecraft doesn't work on my second PC, despite it not being that bad of a machine, and if that were my only option I would certainly want my money back. I installed BFBC2 and it would NOT run on this computer no mater what I did. Even though the electronic distribution strictly says "no refunds" I was still able to get my money back.
Although being mad about about a lack of updates or a hiccup in the web server don't really count as legitimate reasons IMHO. You pre-ordered a game and you never know what the finally outcome may be. I'm not sure what the reason here is in this case however, this thread is such a fuster-cluck

The simple fact is if someone is completely satisfied with something, they will want their money back, or compensation if that service was provided free of charge. (See everytime the PSN goes down and visit Sony's forums. Tons of people demanding free stuff over a few hours of downtime on a free service.) I'm fairly new to Minecraft myself, only having started playing a few days ago, and on my very first day of play the servers went down, and I couldn't play. Was I upset? A bit. Did I want a refund? No. This game is still in Beta. I understood what I was getting when the $15 was paid, and I accepted the fact that there would be downtimes and general issues with the game itself. This is an incomplete game, a work in progress. Asking for a refund on this game is like seeing a half constructed building and demand it be tore down before you even see what it looks like in the end.
I've played some awful games that have made it into the market, like Fable II at launch, and releasing an incomplete game full of glitches and issues that can result in loss of data or a complete restart of your game because an NPC dialog box is always activated is something to demand a refund over. Coming across the same issues in a Beta environment is different, because you are aware that the game is not finished. Could you demand a refund? Sure, but you likely won't get one.
Its JUST 15$ I mean cmon, how poor are you to make such a big deal about it...

I wouldn't have a problem with people complaining about a service/product if it wasn't for such petty reasons. And requesting refunds? Come on, it's $15 as from Beta. It clearly states you buy the game in it's current state and you still receive free updates up to and including the finished game.
I've only had it for 2 weeks and it's already given me more than my $15 worth and I haven't even touched upon the redstone logic thingies yet.
Also, I'm beginning to suspect that whatever updates the team gives us from now on will never meet the expectations of the selected few anyways...it will either be too little stuff in the update, the wrong kind of stuff or not getting updated fast enough.
Notch has his vision for the game and I'm very interested in seeing what that is. It will of course not please everyone but they can adapt the game to their liking with plugins anyways. The possibilities of the game will not be lost just because the developers doesn't share your exact views
You cant say that 15$ isn't a lot of money. Having money to spend is somthing a lot of people take for granted. In certain households that 15$ is the difference between eating today or going hungry again. But the value of a dollar isnt the problem to begin with..
Why the refund is wanted doesnt matter, The problem is that everyone is promised their money back if they wish to return it up to 7 days after purchase. The problem is that the refund requests sent to Notch arent getting responded to in a timely manner if at all.
You have to watch what you say when money is involved, or it can come around to bite you in the ****. He shouldnt of mentioned people can earn a refund if he doesnt have the time, or resources to keep up with it.
That is the problem. And if Notch doesnt want to solve it, Paypal will.
I see you've taken it upon yourself to show that you're actually just looking for an argument over this. Post count doesn't mean anything, especially not in a conversation/discussion such as this. Elitism is for those with flawed arguments they can't prove otherwise.
Is $15 a lot of money to some? Yes. But then you shouldn't have bought the game if you couldn't afford it in the first place. I work in customer service and see this thoughtlessness regularily. If you can't afford something, then don't buy it and then demand a refund when you realize you actually need that money. If you honestly can't afford $15 and you need that money back, you have made a judgement error that started when you inserted your credit card information to purchase the game.
This game is in Beta, a phase that is notorious for bugs and errors. Everyone that plays video games on a regular basis are aware of the fact that games must undergo testing before relase to ensure quality, and that is where Minecraft is right now. The game has its flaws, and that is the whole point of having a Beta test. If the game was in its final released form, then these arguments would be more valid, but no one is trying to hide the fact that the game has flaws currently, but that is why it is in Beta Testing and not release.
As for your information, since you took it upon yourself to assume that I was a child, I'm not. As I have stated I work in customer service for a large company, I work for my money and I earn it, I don't receive it from my parents, or from anyone else. If you want a discussion about this, you should try being less hostile and assuming of others. Just because we don't agree with you doesn't mean you need to resort to childishness.
Edit: Requesting a refund for a product in Beta because the developer is working on making the servers more stable in the future is also ridiculous. Just to address the OP.
