Hey hey! I'm in Finland now, and I like where this thread is going!
I'll show up pretty much wherever you guys decide as long as it's somewhat near where I am. I don't have a driver's license, but I can afford cab rides. :biggrin.gif:
I know nothing about Bellevue, so I can't really offer any input. Food sounds like a good idea, though, and I totally would be willing to wear one of those name tags.
Gentlemen,
This raises a question.
Given our inherent mobility and the fact that Bellevue is pretty much in the center of a 20-mile radius encompassing <hyperbole>all west coast civilization north of California</hyperbole>:
Why Bellevue?
He stated himself that he can get around, and if not by cab, are we not still a nation of individuals, a vast majority of which own and operate comparatively large personal vehicles? (OTOH I can see how he might be a touch paranoid about that proposition. But I digress.)
I know the polls are already up and it's a bit late in the game, but if something ZOMGAWESOME else stands out within reasonable range, why are we locked into the idea of one of four seemingly marginally appropriate venues? I know Pike Place was mentioned before, but got shot down for other reasons.
Or maybe this point was put to rest already and I missed/forgot about it. (Personally I'll be driving up from North Tacoma, so it matters little to me as far as travel goes.)
I am attending, and the crossroads mall sounds so pimp. I hope that's what gets voted. I'll wear a nametag. Specifically, this nametag, and you all should totally do the same so we can find eachother easier wherever the meeting is held.
We should Totally get someone to set up a Mic Chat room for people like me all the EFFING WAY IN LOUISIANNA who can't come because of ze hamn school. I'll only be 7 days away from 13-edness so my voice won't be THAT bad.
YES! I'm not the only one in Louisiana! XD (Besides Brian and Norman >.>) Failure to know where to live for future refrence ftw! Because we all know its so easy to see into the future. T~T
Looks like the park is going to win from the looks of the poll now, but I don't think I should cast a vote since I don't know anything about that area.
If you guys decide to stream it in someway, POST that shet! Link the hell out of it xD. You know how many hits that thing will get?
Hmm sounds like it could be fun. I might come (if i have means of transportation). Is anyone else my age going to be there (I'm 13), that might make it less awkward xP
Also, someone needs to make a ton of minecraft merchandise on cafe press or something and set up a stand xD
I'm all in favor of having it outdoors, as long as the weather will cooperate >.>
As for food, well i don't know, maybe a potluck. or people can bring some grills and barbecue stuff :tongue.gif:
Okay, this has been bugging me. What "downtown park"? I don't remember there being any parks in downtown Bellevue.
EDEEEET: So wait how the heck did I miss such a huge park when I was living there and going there every day? I must have passed that a hundred times but I don't remember seeing it.

It's across the street from JC Penny. (south side) Really big lawn, cant' miss it. (also where they do the orchestral fireworks on the 4th)
Back to the issues at hand: I'm currently searching for decently priced meeting/event space within a reasonable distance. I suspect we'll be too big for restaurants, and I think something indoors would really be ideal. If I come up with anything useful, I'll be back with information. (I'm not ruling out the possibility of just paying a couple bills out of pocket and maybe not recouping)
edit: Maybe we should beg Valve for an hour in one of their conference rooms.
Yes! This will be an awesome week. MinecraftCon and then PAX! I'll be coming for sure. Everybody be sure to bring your creeper shirts and mousepads and get them signed
edit: Just submitted a request for the space. There are tables and chairs available. I'd probably bring a couple of computers (one for a server) and an 8-port switch. (There's internet there, but no idea if it'd be useable for streaming or hosting a public server.)
edit edit: Having this happening in no way precludes hanging at the park, or grabbing a bite to eat. (especially since the room wasn't available until 7:30) So please, continue with other planning! And let me know if you want to lend any assistance (drinks? snacks? computers to plug in?)

I can't wait for it! Also i'll be wearing a mask of ether my minecraft skin or a creeper face.
As well as I'm bringing a laptop that can stream video (if I have WiFi), a camera, and a video camera.

Checking out City resources now. (trying to figure out what community centers are close-ish)
I'm a Microsoft contractor and don't get off work til 5:30pm.
Also, the Bellevue downtown park could get rained out.. We are approaching our rainy season.
