Two things:
1) Mods hopefully could be able to see a recent reviews list. Make our work easier.
2) Next to the review could be number of reviews. For example, Andrew's Publiccraft is listed first even though it only has 1 review (lol mine). The number of reviews matters a bit to in seeing how many people went and visited the server
I just added both of Godhand's suggestions. The recent reviews list will show the top 50, right now it shows all of them due to the limited number of reviews.
Also I have another idea. Over the reviews on the server page, how about an "Info" section? This would have the server software, owner, ops, and so on. The information would be added on the site, but would have to be approved by a moderator before appearing. Changes could be submitted, but would also have to be approved. Then, being able to filter the list by server software might be possible.
Two anonymous reviews of the archives, both with a rating of 3 and both bash the admins. Sounds like butthurt to me, perhaps you could add a system that shows IPs.
If they include any valid reasons, it can stay (although those two reviews could definitely be worded better.)
I added a report abuse system, just click the report button at the bottom of any review and it will be made visible to the mods (click the Mod CP link on the homepage to view reported reviews.)
if we show IPs i would make it so that only mods can see. Just because you got a bad review doesnt mean they deserve some sort of punishment. However I agree with Jacob they could have been worded better. However for both reviews there were valid reasons
Mods should be able to see it but not everyone else. We wouldn't want servers banning ips just cuz they got a bad review. However if something is reviewed twice then the mods could delete it.
Here is an example of what not to do:
Originality: 10000/10
gud server wom never had b4 i like it spritez r awsum n i like 2 bild it now wom has dem
Administration: 10000/10
dis server always has pepol u can count on n u can alwayz talk 2 dem if u need 2
Community: 10000/10
dis server no one is mean dey get all bad pepol out like magik
Technical: 10000/10
nevr lagz it is awsum n 4 pepol dat lov spritez liek mi n mi friendz we r alwayz on dat
Seriously lol, can you read this? Even google translator does better than this. This goes the same for bad reviews. I have no problem if you give 10/10s or 0/10s. Just make the score reasonable (not >9000), make it legible, and make it legit.
This on the other hand is acceptable:
Originality: 10/10
this plaec has comands nobdy else has and contineus 2 b teh best
Administration: 10/10
friendly ops they help stop griff too, i luv these servers
Community: 10/10
huge comunnity with lots of people who are freindly and helpfull
Technical: 10/10
awesome server is awesome
even though its not the best english in the world, you can understand it.
First: mods should be able to tell by IPs to stop spam reviews
Second: there should be a thumbs up/thumbs down for each review (However this like the reviews themselves may be abused with ppl spamming thumbs up or thumbs down)
I think the first point of IP handling should be added in first.
If jacob devises a sign up system, the IP problem can be handled easier. And also that would allow owners to verift themselves as they have signed up. Perhaps a Server Owner request (with some way to truly identify if it is the woner or not)
The mod panel is very simple for now, I'm working on adding report abuse buttons (like flag on YouTube) to make it easier for us to find bad reviews.
