So I've been working on a Minecraft sport that's a combination of Minesweeper and Spleef, and I decided that Undersweep is a good name for it. I bet you all wonder, what exactly -is- Undersweep. The concept is simple: You make a regular spleef arena with enough space in the bottom for people to move around in. It's preferred to be a medium or big size. The destroyable part of the arena must be reachable by those under it. The rules are:
- There must be at least one person on the top and at least one person on the bottom. Each side must have an equal number.
- Depending on the version you want (I've been experimenting with many to see which is the most effective), you may either:
a) The top person lays out the sand before starting the game in a strategic manner. You cannot touch the sand or walk on it.
:cool.gif: The person on the top, after the game has started, may lay sand and delete it, but cannot walk on the sand.
- In each of those versions, said above, the person on the bottom can only delete white blocks, not sand.
- Neither player can jump. Nope, no jumping at all.
- The person on the top wins when the person at the bottom is surrounded by sand and cannot escape. The person at the bottom of the arena wins when the person on the top falls down.
- Like in spleef, do a countdown to start the game.
Now then, this is still a game under construction, because there's a major flaw in it that I'm still currently trying to address, and it's something in it's gameplay. If you did version A, you'd notice that people could lay sand everywhere except in a corner and any gullible fool can fall for it. If you did version B, the same would occur. This game has potential; I've tried it out in Towel's server lately, and it's kinda fun, but I bring you this concept so that you, the community, can help me perfect it with your minds.
So respond, critique, and give out your opinions on this. Try it out if you want, it's easily cross-compatible with most spleef arenas. Also, here's a screenie of the arena I used/made.
Persons involved in the game must agree to a number of sand blocks on the map, also the size of the map:
Person A: I'd like to play a map of 10x10:40 (100 block 10 by 10 and 40 sand traps)
Person B: Well, I'd prefer 9x6:20 (54 blocks 9 by 6 and 20 sand traps)
Agreement on 10x8:30 (80 blocks and 30 sand traps) could be made from this.
Interesting concept. Also interesting that having sand fall on you is not an instant death. You have to make a trap for the guy on the bottom. And dropping sand in such a way as to make a ring would also trap you inside if you want to ever do a reasonable chance of getting the guy on the inside.
Hm? What? Typo? Psh, the monitors must be slowly eating away at your vision. It's totally sand.

This is what I was going for, a game of strategy and not consisting of random clicks. Kinda like a mixed up mindgame version of spleef and Minesweeper.

I don't seem to get it..
Does the bottom person delete blocks?
Sorry if this is just me being stupid..
Also..
" surrounded by sand and cannot escape"
I pointed out your typo!
:tongue.gif:
I now look like a ass..

Oh noes, I am surrounded by sad and cannot escape!!! :sad.gif:
Also, like evilgrim, I don't get the game at all.
