So, we have Murp and spleef. But what other games can our avid Miners create? Present your ideas for game below. (Also, you can support other peoples ideas if you want.)
Each team has 3 members or more, The goal is to arrive at the other side of the moat before the other team, by making little planks.
The amount of blocks you can have down at once is equivalent to 1 less than the amount of members in your team.
If you fall in the water you cannot play for the rest of the match.
You cannot delete the other teams blocks.
Everytime someone on your team falls you can have 2 blocks less down than you could have before
A bunch of people from a forum I go to in a private server that is no longer up made a game with an obscene name, so I'll just call it Chase, because of my lack of creativity for naming.
So, it's like multilayer Spleef, but one person is on the second level while up to four people are on the lower level. The person on the upper level has to run across to the other side on a safety spot while the people below him/her are deleting the floor above them and trying to make the player fall. There is a way to get in front of the person who is on the second level, but you need to find that out. If the person on the upper level gets to the safety spot, he/she gets a point. If the people below the person make him fall to the lower level, each of them get a point. You alternate between people on the upper level. The scorekeeper or whoever you want counts down from three to one, and then says go. On go, the players on both levels jump over the barrier and start the game. You can keep score however you want, (on a piece of paper, on Notepad, with colored blocks assigned to each player, etc.)
Here's some screenshots of an arena for Chase:
The outside of a Chase arena.
The front of a Chase arena. As you can see, there are two levels.
The first level of the Chase arena, where the players delete the floor above them as an attempt to make the player above them fall.
The second level of the Chase arena, where the player runs across and tries to make it to the safety spot without falling down.
You can also make the arena so it is nojump, by, obviously, making the ceiling to low for the person to be able to jump.
Digging Race (Because I have lack of naming creativity also)
A gold block is hidden (Underground) in a (Very) small map (Or you could wall off a small area, as long as everyone stayed in that area). Every player starts in a different part of the map (Having everyone start at a corner is good, but that way only 4 people could play at once), and they all try to dig for the gold block. When someone finds it, they are declared the winner (If they accidentally break it, the game ends in a tie).
If an admin is on the server, they could teleport to the player who claimed he found it, and make sure he's not lying.
The game is kind of hard to set up, but it is extremely fun.
I really like this idea, but projects like this usually get forgotten, so if this will work we'll need to keep on posting here, so that the thread doesnt get lost.

Now Brij is a good name, because it implies bridge, and the goal is to make a bridge to get to the other side.
Unlike Murp.
Also, I made a very intense and fast paced sport that I dub as "Hax Racing." Unfortunately, it's not possible to play at the moment. It involves quick reactions and dexterous timing of jumps, turns, corners, etc.

Roller Coaster Race
A race, using half blocks. Just like a roller coaster, you run along it, but you try to beat your opponent. I made one in SP quickly. I like it. Here's a picture:
You could obviously make it more difficult, adding more jumps, more high traffic areas (where the two tracks become one, making the people have to push and shove to get past, etc. Having more than two tracks could make it a lot more challenging, but take up more space) etc, I just made this one quickly. Whoever gets to the finish line first wins. (The gold where you start). There is a spot for a referee on top of the place where the players start, on the gold. They watch who gets to the gold underneath first.
I was thinking of a game called Get the Gold.
It takes place in a large, square arena with a high ceiling. There is a room at the top, which has a single gold block. The room is not part of the arena, but the door is on one of the walls.
It's a two-player game. The players must build stairs to get to the top, where they must delete the gold block before their opponent.
Pillar building is not allowed; instead, the players must construct stairs to get to the top. It is possible to delete the opponent's blocks, but not encouraged.
A referee must be in the room with the gold in it, to confirm who wins.
I remember, a while back, on Reddit Public IIRC, someone had made Pac-Man spleef. There are the 4 ghosts, and Pac-Man. Pac-Man's goal is to delete all the gold blocks scattered about the arena (usually in some sort of formation, like Pac-Dots), whereas the ghosts' collective goal is to make Pac-Man fall through the floor, obviously.
Seemed like a genius concept to me.
Also, I had an idea that I had originally called Reverse Spleef, but since that name's taken, I'm not sure what to call it anymore.
Basically, each player is assigned a color. It becomes a competition to see who can lay down the most of their color before the entire arena is filled. No deleting other people's blocks, and no hacking, of course. I've never actually tried playing it, but I want to, to see how well it would work.

This is the Arena: http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r121 ... e_mash.jpg [The bis outlined in red are cut out into two deep holes, and filled with lava or water.]

Is it okay, if I try making one in OMEN?

Anyways there's also Connect Four, Battleship, Chess and many others using the standard rules
VICTORY'AN #2
Sounds alot like reverse spleef, http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Spleef#Reverse_Spleef (I invented this ages ago)
Still a fun game, nonetheless.

Check it out here.
Inspired by the first person to post a roller coaster on the forums who's name escapes me.
Obstacle Course Race
Simple. Build two identical obstacle courses and have two people race to the finish. Whoever gets there first wins.
