Presumptions:
I am presuming that on death, a player will drop any blocks they are holding. This makes sense because, if they didn't, the world would run out of resources eventually.
MP survival will be premium only, this one is pretty much a fact.
You can't see what block a player is selecting.
You stay dead until you choose to respawn.
You respawn in a designated place (like sandbox).
Gameplay:
There would be two teams, perhaps to stick with fantasy theme Goblins and Humans or Knights and Bandits. Identifiable by their skins and/or armor.
There will be two bases, one for each time. The base could be a simple room, or a complex maze. But what is certain is it will contain a colored (or otherwise immediately identifiable) block. For that team. The other team must steal it and take it back to their own fort. The opposing team must attempt to kill the flag holder, and return their flag back to their base.
If a flag is successfully stolen, the team gains a point and the round is reset.
Because I'm working off the presumption that you can't see the block a player has selected, I'm going to say that the game can be played two ways here; Blind or Overwatched.
If blind, none of the teams know which player has stolen the flag (unless they announce it). This is more difficult for the team who has had their flag stolen to recover it, but it could also mean that there is more conflict involved (because both teams will be constantly charging each other to steal the flags or kill the flag stealer).
Overwatched requires a person, or persons to watch the game and announce who has the flag, if the flag has been successfully stolen or if the flag has been returned.
Another, at host/players discretion subtle change could be allowing respawns. For example: if you're killed and you're not allowed to respawn until the match is over, or you can respawn but have to wait until the game is over from a vantage point away from the game. Or you can respawn and join the battle immediately. (However, in the case of respawning in a random place on the map, perhaps you have to follow a certain path to rejoin, for example you have to climb over the back of the base and drop to the center of the map.
There are plenty of other subtle changes such as block destruction allowed or not, block building allowed or not, score to win, team sort, max team size so on and so forth.
Tell me what you think and contribute your own ideas, please expand on them a fair bit, giving possibilities for different reactions from survival (see presumptions as I explained poorly here).
I'd think a nice game of cat & mouse would be cool.
1 cat (recognizable by skin), and everyone else is a mouse. Mice aren't allowed to attack, and the cat must kill every after a certain timelimit. After they die, they return to the spawn prison, or the spectator zone.
Basically, last person not dead by lava, wins. How lava comes out can be decided by the players. No attacking for humans. Uses survival settings (i.e. fall damage, slowed destroy speed). No respawning too.
Dead players become "monsters", with greatly reduced destroying speed (at least 3x), but they have several advantage. They can attack in the form of a fireball, they can swim through lava at full speed and see clearly in it.
When there's only one player left alive, rounds over and it restarts.

The entire idea requires Lua scripts. I'm talking about PURE Survival mode.
I'm not exactly sure whats its called, but it involves two teams, and each team has to take control of certain areas of the map, and the team that holds the most areas the longest wins, and to show which area is in what control, they just simply place a block with the same color of their team in a certain spot.
I know it's common, I've played it in games like Unreal Tournament and Warsow, just the name escapes me.
I have one, it is called Can you Escape?
Basicly you send a bunch of guys into a maze and you'll have traps to use on players like make the walls out of unbreakables and certain things out of leaves so they can kill other players and stuff.

I'm going to actually make a map for this right now, and leave it for survival MP.
Lol way ahead of you!
NOOOOO.
Fine. I'll make a CTF map then, then a British Bulldog map. :OOOO

Maybe, most of the time their are like 2-3 "points" to take control of and hold untill time runs out.
I r need themez nao. :biggrin.gif:
