I have lots and lots of reasons why Minecraft is excellent. I've been playing since Alpha, but now after 1.8 it's better than before! Those houses. They are nice and add a cozy feeling to a formerly empty game. I don't know about all you horror people (I know you exist, and that's okay) who enjoy empty wastelands, but villages are awesome!
The food system works. It worked before, but now it is different. Regeneration, food, and potions actually make eating a balanced and fun task.
New biomes! I admit they mess up old maps a bit (GoombaVille is buried under swamp), but for the most part they are excellent. They and the new little touches (blocks with water above them drip, etc.) turn Minecraft into a real-feeling game.
Abandoned mineshafts allow you quick transport underground at the cost of more danger. That's awesome! People who don't like mining but LOVE fighting can replace the old strip-mine with one of these, and people who enjoyed the old system can... wait for it... stick to the old system.
Forumers, Minecraft is great. It is a great game. I still enjoy playing it after more than a YEAR of mostly-daily play. The depth, the infinite world, the POSSIBILITIES allow so much. I love it.
But some of you guys are hell-bent on destroying this. For you, every change is bad. Every glitch is worth at least five advantages of a new feature. Every new utility is overpowered. And every new mob is stupid and doesn't fit the feel of Minecraft. You'll even literally wish death to people whose suggestions you deem inferior.
You are poisoning the community.
When you were getting into Minecraft... did you watch that In Search of Diamonds video over and over? Did you watch X's Adventures, or some other Let's Play? Do you still have an old world from the very beginning? Look at it again. If you're lucky, you'll start feeling the way you did when you started playing this game.
I think technically new players are poisoning minecraft, we were here first. :tongue.gif:
As someone who only started playing in 1.0, (bought it when Beta first started but couldn't play it on my netbook) I would think that it's the newer users who are more happy with Minecraft in its current state whereas the older ones are more strongly opposed to changes.
No minecraft is not awesome... ITS AMAZING :biggrin.gif: I personally started playing at about 1.3 and i must say i miss those days, back when i was just starting out on a friends server. But either way it's still an amazing game, I love all the new editions since i started playing and i will always love this game :tongue.gif:

what do you mean technically, and i don't think that's really fair on new players anyway, why do you have any more right to play than them? although i do agree a lot of them seem to complain -.-
(before you ask i am not new myself, I started playing in alpha)
No one is poisoning minecraft. :tongue.gif: Just because people post stupid **** on this forum doesn't mean that they play and enjoy the game like many people who actually explore what they game gave to us and not complain about change because often people who preach "change" don't do so well. lol If you want to play with sensible people make a server get bukkit require accounts and ban anyone who you deem "poisoning" minecraft. No one is stopping you because.. well... it's minecraft! :biggrin.gif:

That's because you are a new player. Anyone who started in Beta is a newbie.
I've given my 2 cents a few times about why this sort of thing happens. I actually learned this when searching for apartments while in College, but the sad truth is negative comments are the loudest comments. Very seldom will a person have a good experience with a product or service and then suddenly get the urge to tell the world about it (I have, however). Most people (myself included) don't need much provocation to voice our negative opinion, however.
Also, plenty of the negative complaints are perfectly legitimate and well thought out, like about the hunger system, which completely changes the game and cannot be turned off. Others are just stupid, like the new way of finding apples. I would have made a separate tree for them, but whatever.
Even the huge oceans, which I complained about so much, don't seem so bad now that I'm using maps more. They make individual areas stand out better.
'sighs' why do people keep saying this, Minecraft is Not good
IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smile.gif:
But yeah I agree if people don't like features then don't update, if you don't like Minecraft the don't play it. Complaining isn't going to do anything

Because Minecraft is awesome.
I hope everyone understands this.
(edited, actually there are 17,000,000 users :tongue.gif:)
... :/ not necessarily. I don't know exactly how many people play COD, but there are a ton of them. That doesn't mean COD is a good game.
of it i though i could break tnt in 1.5 but i lit it off :sleep.gif:
I just built a dirt house.
Cool, right...

The breeding and farming aspects are my favourite parts.
I'm with this guy. Minecraft is better than ever. The forum reminds me of these guys, only you folk are serious.

I regret that our disagreement in "Who is Player?" might soil my compliment :\
It's too bad that we "met" on poor terms, because you're clearly a good writer and intelligent forum user...

Yeah, cause only your opinion is right. Everyone else is wrong.
