I believe I found the entrance to Funderling! :happy.gif: In the main part of Shadowmarch, I found a staircase heading downward. It led into various cobble and stone rooms with grey, purple, and gold decoration. I finally came to a room and off to the side, surrounded in obsidian, was a seeecret little drop into a massive, and I mean MASSIVE underground chamber. I assume there was another entrance that was currently covered by a stone tower thingy. I should took a picture for proof but couldn't get it to work. =/
One of the finest creations made in Minecraft so far! This is awesome, and it's even better because you didn't use hacks or Omen, except for the initial map, to build it. I tip my hat for you sir!
Also, this would make a great map for multiplayer survival in my opinion.
And will you ever do The Castle from the septimus heap books
Maybe in the summer
I doubt it; I've never read those books, and wouldn't be comfortable with building something I don't know well. That's one thing about Tad Williams, is that he is very competent at detailing his locations, so it's easy to form a mental image.

Oooh, yeah... That's not the entrance. What you found was a hole in the Royal Crypt that leads to what will become The Mysteries....which is below Funderling Town. Yeah, it's pretty massive.
The main entrance to Funderling Town, as pictured above, is actually in Skimmer Town near the Keep walls. It's mostly covered by Red Brick, denoting that it's not done at all yet. But it's not hidden; there IS a path to it. It's just a little out of the way.
Nice find, though! That spot does play a minor role in the books. It's going to be harder to find once lighting is done...the Crypt will be very dark.

I could try 'epic'
Or 'awesome'
Or 'LOLWHUTEPICK'
But since nothing could express the massive awesomeness, i'll just try it with a simple 'wow'.
I'd really like to play survival mp with you :smile.gif:
Thanks. I don't know how much time I'll have to play MP, and I'm going to be VERY selective about where I play, but I do plan on being around.

Thanks, Snowman! That's high praise coming from you! Yeah, it probably would have been faster to make with hacks or if I did more in OMEN, but I would have lost a lot of detail control in the process. No tower or house is exactly the same, and I've added a lot of personal touches that I like that needed to be made on-the-fly. The only real way to make a realistic structure is to build it by hand and deal with the circumstances of terrain and everything else as they come.

If it didn't Butcher your computer
I miss my old computer >:V
Much of the castle would be placed in fog in MP, which would make it run better, but you wouldn't see it in all of it's glory.
Seriously impressive and beyond all my ability. As I am a connoisseur in castles :laugh.gif: it's obvious to me that your skill in the art is great. You do have books for blueprints, it is true: but not enough can be said of skill.
That said, even my greatly-advanced HP with Vista can't handle loading it. I was intending to keep a copy of it somewhere to explore in my spare time, but after five or ten minutes the map still isn't fully rendered.
Absolutely amazing castle. You have truly shown off the amazing potential of the game so far, and the creative ability therein. Although you do have a worded blueprint (you may have pictures too, not familiar with the book series), but even so...to create something this massive is truly impressive. You have inspired me to try to create my own massive project :smile.gif:. Looking forward to any improvements made hereafter and especially for the move into the newer systems if/when you decide to do that. Seeing the whole place decked out with torches in a night scene would look absolutely amazing.
Freaking epic. How long did it take? I don't really have a problem with epic builds, except for the time it takes. I can always get most of the frame done, but never the body without hax. Oh btw, for the love of God get that somehow into Infdev Multiplayer.
Apparently, 512x256x512 is too big for indev to load, and if you were to make it smaller, you would have to maul the castle to actually get physics and stuff to work.
You heard that, green and red.
