Whoa. Thanks! A lot more comments have popped up since I took a break. All throughout this past week I've been meaning to get back to working on the castle mansion, though I feel that when I get my hands on the blu-ray with extras I may find more clues to building it accurately. The mansion is quite complex without enough angles and I've been spending a lot of time trying to figure out how things fit inside. The iTunes release of the movie has helped shed more light on things too.
I'm a bit shocked to find that someone has also started to build Arendelle around the same time and their screenshots are disturbingly similar to my build. http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/frozen-arendelle-wip-/ While there's only so many ways to build something with these big blocks the strangest part is how they made the corner towers - apart from the roof, it looks almost exactly the same! I know that the way I placed those birch wood blocks is not accurate to the movie, but it is what I settled with. I'm really weirded out by this.
It could be because as I mentioned from the start, I livestream every moment of building the castle and there's quite a few lurkers in chat. Mostly nice people. Here's the latest stream (may include horrible singing), until I take some more pleasent screenshots. http://www.twitch.tv/heroharmony/b/504086407
Keep it up! This is looking great! I am currently building this in a almost creative Survival server where I basically am in creative except I break blocks normally and have to gather stuff still, but can fly and not worry about mobs. I think mine might be bigger overall at the moment, but yours is looking great! Mine is similar but I use different block types and size differences in some of the details as well as the correct number of poles on the inside of the wall lol... its 9 poles not 8
Heres how I know:
But yeah, keep it up! Also please update with new progress! Thanks for the inspiration!Wait no yours is bigger, just looked at the details and actually counted out the block in the picture lol, yours has larger gaps than mine. Which means yours will look more rounded out but I was pretty limited on space since the terrain area I'm using is good for he cliffsides but there are some medium islands in the way of some of my build. Oh well, I'll just have to remove that... minor inconveniance
I've been very obsessed with Disney's Frozen. I can't throw enough money at it, so I decided to start building the charming Arendelle castle in Minecraft. I'm building the castle on a private minecraft server and only making use of what vanilla provides.
I'm by no means a pro builder. For the first time in forever - I've returned to Minecraft, so suggestions are welcome. Here are the first few screenshots after 4 days of play.
If anyone wants to see my progress on the build here is a link to a forums I am using to mark my progress. I update it each day. I don't wanna take away from this build but it seems it's been a little while since the last update by the OP so I wonder if he is still working on it (or she)
Oh and mine isn't like an exact replica, if I had W/E and creative I would work harder to make it more precise... I should probably just completely redo the the bridge before I finish it though since it is really short in comparison to the movie! Other details have the right number of things but maybe not the right length.
