So, I'm in a creative world and I want to do a one-tick pulse to start up a clock for a contraption that can't use the new method of clocks with comparators (), meaning one repeater into another at lowest time for both (). I want to be able to spawn a redstone torch connected to a powered block that makes that one-tick pulse, instantly shutting off, and then later be able to de-spawn it, all using only command blocks and the command, "setblock". My dilemma is that I can't make the torch connected to the wall of the block, as it spawns on the floor. Is there a way to make a torch, or button for that matter, connected to a wall via a certain position?
0: Standing on the floor
1: Pointing east
2: Pointing west
3: Pointing south
4: Pointing north
Since the default Damage value when using /setblock is 0, it will always be on the floor where applicable (will automatically attach to an available wall if there is no floor).
Wow! That's super duper helpful! Thanks so much. Although, I ended up finding a way to do it without needing the direction. Just have the torch on top of a powered block. Either way, that is very useful information and I'll be sure to use it in the future. Also, I didn't see any posts about this, and felt that it should be on here.
The "Damage" value in the /setblock syntax determines the direction the torch will face:
You can find the proper damage values here: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Ids#Torches_and_Redstone_Torches
Copied from wiki:
Since the default Damage value when using /setblock is 0, it will always be on the floor where applicable (will automatically attach to an available wall if there is no floor).
