I personally like it uncovered, though both look grand.
The style of building you used to make the rest of the castle looks better with uncovered towers. If you chose another building style, then the covered towers would look best. But I think you should go with uncovered on this one.
Oh, and by the way- you are a great builder! I cannot build that good even if i tried. I am not the best at perspectives.
I'm still battling with the covered uncovered idea, more people are saying uncovered so I'm going to go with that, and thank you Fighter_Princess, I build in minecraft way too much, I suck at perspectives when I draw but in this I don't even think about it.
The entrance to the tower from the ground floor will be on the wall on the other side of the castle, on this side the ground level inside the walls is so high that you can just walk right onto the ground from the top of the wall.Yeah I know the doors look huge, I was gonna deal with that when I got the outer wall done, which is another sixteen towers.
Yes, that's a great look for the towers. Did you mix in some stairs with the half-slabs? I think if the windows matched the crenelations there would be too many. Typically castles have more crenelations than windows, for a variety of reasons.
I just realized what you where talking about, I used solid blocks, what I did differently was I made a dome that was so big it would only sit on the four corner blocks and then chopped the sides off even.
i have an idea, seeing that the walls are quite high above the wall's floor, you can try making a bigger (2x3 or 2x4) hole, and using oak wood (or similar) as doors, having one open and one close, both open or both close
I want to make the doors usable so if their is a wood that matches the doors closely maybe double their size.
I'm trying to recreate this shield that is my profile pic as a banner on my castle or the walls somewhere, but making it small enough just doesn't look good, the smallest that I have been able to make that looks good is 20W X 32H, that is as wide as a tower and almost as tall(tower is 36), anyone got any ideas?
