Hey guys, I have played minecraft since Beta. I am back into it after a couple years of quitting. However, I am just starting to play creative mode for the first time. "Creative" is definitely not a word to describe me lol.
That being said, I need your suggestions on how to improve this how I made in my first town to make it not so....bland and ugly haha. Please, constructive criticism only! I already know it's bad
I'd like the outside to look good before I start on the inside.
It's a good start. The first thing I noticed is it is a bit boxy. Try adding accents on the outside by using stairs or slabs or even by taking the exiting white stripped pillars you have and just add a layer ontop of it so its more 3 dimensional, sort of like how you have the front door, but do it on both sides of the corners.
Its personal preference but I prefer to open up the roof "triangle". Maybe add a window or something in that upper roof triangle area.
The fact that you have a chunk of building coming out the side is good so make sure to continue with that.
One thing I always tell people is there's only so much detail you can put in a build that big. The bigger the build the more room for windows and layers or things, so don't stress if it looks "boring" so to say. Another comment I have is to maybe add a bit of color. Some trees, a garden or a fenced area or something. The stone ground mixed with the stone look on the building makes it look drab in terms of color.
Well concentrate not only on the house itself, why not add stuff like gardens or fountains?
You can spruce it up (pun) with all the new flower types added.....
Also used stained glass, but don't go and make a rainbow.
Stick to a theme that is consistent.
