before i start a mega build i like to sit down and brainstorm and imagene what i am building before i build it that way i have kinda a rough sketch of what im going to build then i start to outline the city or what ever my next mega build my be and it all takes off from there

Rough sketch is definitely a good way for you to plan before you build. Pretty important if you forgot what you want to do.
Practice, trial and error, being willing to tear down mistakes, etc.
I'm sure some people are more naturally gifted but everyone has to put in the raw hours to learn and improve. I started building the usual square block hut stuff that everyone tends to build at first. Then I built a (lousy) city. The a better one. Then a better one. I'm on my fourth or fifth city now and there is stuff I would do differently (read: better) if I were to start again.
I see people pop on my server and say things like "oh, I wish I could build something like that." Well, they can. But it starts with putting in the hours and actually making things. There are so many people who make really impressive things in this game and they all started somewhere. Also, and I can't stress this enough: actually finishing projects is so important. Half-building stuff never feels good.

Yeah. Seeing an imcomplete building makes you kind of sad... (Unless intended)
Abadonding it is useless. There must be a will to rebuild it!

Sorry to say this, but I don't like to spend tons of time making a build super detailed and perfect. I also don't like to have to build walls, which takes time, so I make most my homes in the sides of mountains. Don't be mean, this is my own opinion.

I also have that feel before, once.
It begins since the first time I play Minecraft (Yeah it was boring at first). As I completed my first ever project, I was 'rewarded' my very own efforts!
If you adapt yourself into it, these boring parts wouldn't be a problem for ya'!
I think they put so much time on it. i build a mega ship its during something like 2 days but yeah. Ive tryed to make a super nice blaze head i cant do that!

Spending 3 hours every day building, I think I know what building is all about. It's all about wanting to get it done, you want it perfect, you spend every minute refining, refurnishing and the next minute you do it again. There is also a lot of ideas that you need to utilise. I find it useful to make note when you have an idea about your build, even if it's a small idea, or a bad idea, write it down. I often go around my projects flying and asking myself, "does this look good"? "can I add/remove something here"?. Also, I mean no offense to people, but some people just are bad at building. If you spent an hour building a house of gold and diamond blocks and when its done, it's still a cube, you need to practise with shaping you builds and using blocks correctly. One way to find good bases is to find a shape, in this case, lets say its a triangle, add a new shape to it, lets say... a circle, now we have a triangle with a circle. You can muck around with these shapes and in the end have a cool design. Maybe now you have a triangle with a circle on top and a octagon and pentagon on the bottom. If you want to use blocks correctly, just look at other builds. Sandstone, quartz and stone bricks could be a combination. Or maybe spruce planks, logs and stone bricks together look decent. If your still struggling, build with a partner, mix ideas and improve each others work.
Yes!,I do like potatoes.i'm also here to say,i'm recruiting minecraft builders for a building team for those who are qualified and what you said is true.Concepts, grades, builders like me will be available for the projects add me on Skype Jaiden_909
