I want to dedicate sometime to making a mega structure in MC. So i need some input on the scale of blocks i should go for. I've seen some people doing things like converting 1 block into a 2x2 then up to a 4x4. Another thing is. I have the inspiration and such for what i want. But what i lack is the possible skill set for this. I may start bumping this post with my progress. It would be great to have some good pointers before i begin.

With something that large, I would definitely go for a pretty big scale. Build a couple segments here and there to make sure you can fit all the design details in the scale you choose, and then slowly just do the whole thing.
For the towers, decide on a couple circumferences by just eying it. Then use this little number right http://minecraft-cra...calculator.html here to make sure you have a perfect circle.
Whatever you do, don't start building without sampling first. That is the key to screwing up.
Lastly, make a wise decision on if you want its width to be an odd number or an ever number of blocks. This might seem silly, but it could be potentially extremely annoying if you don't.

Thank you. Honestly I may consider opening this up for general assistance. I mean if you have seen the anime then you'd know just how big the structure really is.

Made some progress after about a day of sitting on my rear end calculating this thing as i went along. I love how my mind works sometimes. I translated a corner of a 100x100 circle i generated using Worldedit into this st of numbers to construct a pattern.

Then converted that pattern to work with the scale of blocks i want.
which becomes currently 4 layers and currently working on the 5th. Using WorldEdit to copy and paste the layers so i don't waste to much time. YAY WORLDEDIT! <3
This is the end result so far with my project.
I use gold for marking points on the circle. Diamond for marking corners and the Iron is the base material. I might Change it to Snow however i think i like the way the iron blocks look right now. This is just for the outter ring of the DWMA afterall. So no need to get really detailed with it. Any suggestions on the set of materials i should use for this structure?

. . . I think you should search for the sould eater infos about it, there may be something about its size.
if it is bigger than 250 meters height, then you will have to scale it to fit minecraft limits (building at a basic superflat) or if it have more than 190 meters height and you want to build it at a normal minecraft map height (around 64 height at the floor, max of 254 height) then you will also have to scale it to fit minecraft limits.
still, I tried a search (havent tried it hard) and couldnt find something to help you out with this.
