Because it will make it look better, and less blocky, it will break the monotonous tone so to speak. He is giving you ideas to get your creative juices flowing, if you are looking for advice, you have to be a bit more open minded about it, to get any benefit from it
I am wanting and taking advice, but I just didn't see the point in using fences and slabs.
For a newbie, I would say it is pretty good... The only thing I would change is the multi blocks. What I mean by that is all the different blocks that were used. I suggest you stick with one block and only use different blocks if you need to... But on the other hand, It looks really great! Keep up the good work!
The first one is done with one type of block and I think it is to bland. If you look at houses in the real world you'll see they use different materials to build it. Most brick houses ain't all brick. They use brick at the bottom and wood on the top. All brick would be to bland. But, if you like a house to be all one texture and color, then good for you.
That is quite good, its starting to look a bit like my medieval buildings. I generally use more wooden log posts, cobblestone on the first floor, and horizontal logs to mark floors. If I could figure out how to post screenshots I'd show you. :c

I'm sorry if I offended you, I was just suggesting.

To post a screenshot. When you have your shot click prt scrn button. Go to paint. Paste in paint. Crop and edit where needed. Save. Go to tinypic.com. Upload pic. Copy and paste img code to the reply box here on the forums.
I'm talking about the first houses I built in Creative. In Survival my first shelter was just a hole in the ground. In my opinion, it is ok to build small shacks or just dig a hole for shelter in Survival, but in Creative, people want creativity.
Your right, my first creative house was pretty big, damn updated deleted it though... Pissed me off when i saw i had no worlds.
Eeehm, Just press F2, MC will make a Screenshot ^^ Then go to the place, where MC is saved on your computer (the .minecraft-folder) and there you will find the folder "screenshots". Then you can upload it on different pages (like: pic-upload.de, imageshack.us(requires free registration)) when you uploaded it, you normally find in the decription-pages the so-called "Hotlink". Copy it. Then go to this forum, when you write a post, you can press the "Image"-button (under the smileys-button) where you only have to insert the hotlink. Thats it. And this is the way, people should do it
That'll work to, but I'm used to doing it the way I described. I've posted many screenshots in several forums using my method.
I think that the first house was OK for a first house
but the second one, I dont like that every was built with another block .
I think the first one was better then the second one but you can do better then both..
