This is one heck of a masterpiece! My 3 things to say are these:
1) Keep building! I absolutely love the designs and can pull inspiration from your designs for my personal world
2) You are awesome for posting this on the web for all to download. Moreover, you are a true minecraft community member to allow people to use it (provided they provide credit, make it free, etc...), thank you for that!
3) If you ever have more Final Fantasy ideas to build, try posting them in the thread here! A lot of us would love to match your talent for building and it will be interesting/ entertaining to watch them go up. I think a fun thing that I will *attempt* to work on (asterisks intended...) will be Final Fantasy 10 world projects.
I don't think it would be too late to post here...
Anyways, I'm surprised at the lack of hype this thread is receiving. You have no idea how amazing that Midgar replica is. Even though it's not entirely on a 1:1 scale (Imagining the real Midgar to be miles long), It took me hours to map the place out in my mind and I have so far memorized most of the slums, Shinra Tower, and several Sectors, and it's large enough on its own as it is.
I have downloaded many other maps and schematics, but I find your servers map to be very fascinating and I spent several hours exploring that as well, but I always get drawn back to exploring Midgar.
The Balamb Garden was pretty accurate, besides sizing again; On perfect sizing, I would imagine it to be much larger, but I can't build as well as I always lose patience and I would have given up after building Midgar myself, so you went above and beyond on that as well.
I was wondering if I could use that map on a little private whitelisted server I could set up for me and a couple other (and sometimes more) other friends whom I know very well (Leaving all signs and traces of credits leading back to you in the process). The map would jumpstart everything so we feel like we're on a much larger server when we really aren't, but mostly, I want to set up some sort of role-playing revolving around Midgar.
I have worked on the map in singleplayer a bit (Labeling sectors and structures with signs, and made a 3-track rail system from the Balamb Garden to Midgar, and changed the highways around a bit to lead the rails up to Shinra Tower's back entrance.) I'm doing this so if I could use this on a personal server, I could take my friends to Balamb, show them around it, then we can all head off to Midgar and gaze at it from up above on the highways, then be taken right to the heart of it where we choose where to go.
Wonderful builds, all the pictures really stunned me at the beauty of it all. One thing I do suggest, though, is putting the videos/pictures into spoilers so the post isn't so large.
Do we still have to have MC Edit to put this into our world or is this just drag and drop?
il say this, if you use world edit to import files that are large, [like midgar] you're server is going to crash, you will most likely lose data, and chunks could end up corrupted.
[a world with corrupted chunks can never ever be fixed it goes on infinitely destroying everything in the path]
always use mcedit when dealing with files over 20 megs IMO or schematica [forge mod not instant build but doesnt destroy landscapes]
thanks again chris for the upload! you have no idea on how hard its been the last week trying to get a copy of this specific map!
You're welcome, and guys all you have to do is add the world to you're worlds folder and you will be all set, I haven't played in a while but I had setup a train station with labels of each track that took you to the different builds minus a secret underground one I made.

I don't use World Edit. Before this map couldn't be loaded into MC without MC Edit. That's why I was asking...

This world is ridiculous... the sheer size the buildings is staggering!!! Well done!
I think exploring this world would be fun.
