MIIIIICE! But can I make midgar into a zombie apox city? Then put it on internet via MediaFire? I will give full credit but its going to be an adventure map and I think even you will enjoy it...
Hey thanks I will give full credit. But there is a problem. When I downloaded Midgaurd It didnt have ANY world files in it :/ it had your tex pack and schematic... Not a level dat... Keep this in mind as I re-download I think I clicked the wrong download...
EDIT: Ok. I see the problem I have no Idea how to use MC Edit to place schematics in my world. Also I dont have MC Edit but I'm going to download it now.
Ok I thought about this today especially since mcedit was handed over, I HIGHLY recommend it once you get the hange of it its by far the best tool for minecraft.
ok im uploading my entire world with absolutely everything in it ill have thye link up top in a minute or 2 itll make life much more easy for you all.
EDIT****
OK so its 400mb so itll be a couple hours lol but ill link it ASAP for you guys to have a much more easy time since MCedit can be a pain for some.
So this is freaking awesome! I see you have a server with a lot of your builds.
I'm wondering if you'd be interested in a FFVII world build, probably using World painter at first to set up the basically landscape, and then setting it up on a creative mode server with MCedit. I honesty know next to nothing about setting up servers on user functions etc. However i've been using World painter for a lil bit and think i've got a good feel for it, not as much with MCedit though.
I only play on one server right now, and it's pretty fun. But i think i'd like to work on server with an all round common goal.
Let me know via a PM if you would be interested in working on something like that.

Thank you, I had actually thought about building the entire game after I finished Midgar and Temple Of The Ancients ill back to you if I decide to,.. I may be coming up on more hours and a promotion at work so we will see, plus before this blew up I had someone request my to build Cids rocket aswell, now the Gold Saucer and whatnot else haha its so crazy.
These builds are simply breathtaking, I'm glad you posted them here for us to admire and enjoy! :3
I'm having a bit of trouble, though. I downloaded the full server map and tried it in Minecraft 1.2.5, but some chunks in central Midgar are being repopulated for no reason.
Strangely, when I used MCMapDZ to render the map, before loading it in Minecraft, all chunks were normal. Once I loaded the map in Minecraft, these chunks were immediately reset and replaced with new terrain.
Here's a few screenshots describing my issue. The first one shows some of the reset chunks, whereas the other two are shots of Rei's Minimap with the chunk grid, showing the affected chunks.
Any clues on what might be happening?
EDIT: I tried to load the Midgar schematic on top of the server map's Midgar, but the exact same chunks still repopulated. I also tried making a second Midgar in MCEdit, in an unexplored area of the server map, as well as in a newly-generated world, using the schematic, but this time different chunks were repopulated - strangely though, they were still in the centre of the city.
I have no idea why this is happening. I can't seem to find any method to prevent this and it's basically ruining the build. : |
Thats interesting and no not a clue why thats happening this is the 1st time ive heard of this, considering all the chunks are already rendered theres no reason for minecraft to do this. Bump for any ideas.
EDIT: It seems the problem is related to Forge and its handling of minecarts. Once the mod is added, errors are thrown for those chunks and they're repopulated, with new biomes and everything. After removing the minecarts in MCEdit, the problem ceased to occur.
I did leave a bug report on their forum nonetheless, since it's likely something that can be fixed.
Oh, and by the way, love the enormous amount of details you did. Adding the slums, making a proper model of Midgar with the elevated plate, the pillars, the interiors, the locations we saw in the game... Awesome! And I also loved Balamb Garden and how you even made the "secret place" after the training center, outside of the Garden. And the sub-level, too. Your attention to detail is magnificent.
I was using WorldEdit and tried to load a schematic but this happened... TWICE! I used all commands, //shematic load wedit Midgar, //schem load wedit Midgar, //shematic load we Midgar, //schem load we Midgar!BTW: Ive been using WE alot recently and come to find its my favorite mod AND plugin! Im pretty good at it but Midgar wont load! Please help me. I havent given up what ive asked you before.
I'm no expert on WorldEdit, but from your error and a Google search, it's likely the schematic you're trying to load is just too big for WorldEdit to handle in-game, or for your computer's RAM (and considering Midgar's complexity, this is with good reason).
Some people suggested that you tried loading the schematic in smaller parts, but personally I recommend you use the MCEdit program for those bigger projects instead.
Note that when I tried to use it, I had to import the schematic not too long after opening the server map worldsave, otherwise MCEdit would throw an error and refuse to import Midgar. Also, if you use Forge, you may have to install at least v3.1.2.97 to prevent error chunks.
Not complaining CJ but what the above said IDK what it means, and when will this happen?
