Thanks a lot for this guide, I just finished re-creating this thing on my world. Turns out, it's very close to be similar to what you built, with just a few inevitable modifications from my side. Now I can be proud that I've built something worthy. Thanks again. Will upload pictures later, tired right now.
I don't know how to make schematics. I'll look into it.
It quite easily actually. Just download mcedit, navigate to the log cabin, select it by dragging the selection grid over it, right click, and then in the menu on the left, select export schematic. :smile.gif: Hope that helps!
P.S. Navigating mcedit is a bit confusing, but once you get it down, everything else will make sense. Thanks again for the awesome tutorial!
I agree, something like doukucraft would make that look amazing! you should put up variations on this design, essentially creating a blueprint for a small village / city

I really actually like the vanilla texturepack. That's why I stay in it. However, i recently installed Mixcraft HD, and am liking that, so perhaps I'll upload some new images in that tp.
As for the blueprint, the intention with this design is to make it easily customizable by the builder. I suppose I could upload single images of variants on this theme, but I always worry about taking away the experience of designing and building the structure if I do too much step-by-step. My goal is to inspire and enable players to build bigger.

"Large cabin" i was expecting a flippin mansion or something like everyone always goes for.
In truth, small ones like this always seem to shine more and are FAR harder to pull off.
Can you please tell me the seed and co-ordinates of this location? :smile.gif: I tried to duplicate it but the land wasn't right and it looks like a piece of ****. :dry.gif: It's a good design, but I couldn't find a good place to put it. :tongue.gif:

I'm not sure of the seed. There are a couple of other builders who've made versions of the large cabin and posted pics in the thread to give you a sense of what you can do with it. An added challenge, one I personally enjoy, is to fit a particular build idea to the landscape. The terrain generator in MC forces us to be quite flexible and creative sometimes when building (or level huge areas to flatgrass), and the exercise of matching the build to the terrain is always worth the effort.

Very nice! Hurray for modularity of design!
The only texture pack you'll ever need.

Not everyone uses custom texture packs. I don't.
