Hi, i was just kind of thinking about the different kinds of architecture you can use in Minecraft, and i want to see others' houses/cabins/towns/bases and compare. Don't be discouraged by any one else's work, We all want to see every one's work regardless if it's magnificent or not! :wink.gif:
I'll start off with a couple pictures of my cabin (i'm using the painterly pack and a couple mods);
The inside
The outside(yes i did accidentally light my world on fire...)
Can't wait to see all of you guys' and gals' work, and feel free to rate any one else's architecture!
I don’t have screens of anything at the moment, but think gothic and overkill. I like my homes with lots of arches, high, vaulted ceilings, and ten-meter-thick walls. Sometimes I just find a nice mountain and go from there.

Haha that's awesome! a tip for getting easy screen (because sometimes F2 doesn't work) is opening paint, facing what ever you want a pic of in minecraft, hitting print screen (upper left of keyboard usually) and selecting the select icon on your tools bar and right clicking and clicking paste. (just in case you weren't aware.)
(I thought of the stairs design while daydreaming in math class lol.)
The entire building is symmetrical too. I'm OCD that way...

i have discovered that if i use the compass then it changes directions while i am trying to use it!
not that helpful really because it depends on the way you face and you dont always face the same way lol
I'm a terrible architect, so I opted to build a small village instead of one large exuberant mansion like you guys.

I forsee... lots of forum bitching about slow updates... then... yes, I can see it all now... even more forum bitching about tiny glitches... and, and... possibly a new mob, which will drop something that will also be bitched about...
MS-DOS4, I really like your town. Some strange reason every world I have started I start building an overly large house and then most of the time I never take the time to properly decorate the inside of it.
EDIT:
featherblade, obviously you used invedit but did you build those by hand or use an editor? Still very impressive no matter how it was made.
I don't have a specific house for me right now, since I am focusing on building an entire fantasy RPG town. I've got some videos (no pics) in this thread if ya wanna check it out: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1020&t=155227

1: Actually, you're wrong. Not by much though: They were all built on the Voxelbox, with ussual item spawning, on top of Voxelmore and VoxelSniper, with a little help from WorldEdit.
It was all made ingame though (esp. the sand dragon, as I had to replace out my hold blocks and incorporate buttons and whatnot). I disdain the usage of Binvox: It doesn't give the same feel as a hand crafted sculpture made to how minecraft uses blocks, not the real world.

Ah ok, I don't play multiplayer much so I tend not to think about the multiplayer spawning commands. Once again they are very cool builds.
Nice Forest fires, I hear they are quite fashionable these days.
Yes i know! (lol i actually tried to get rid of one tree, misjudged the distance to a tree i didn't see, and then poof, my world is on fire. but it's actually great for harvesting meat and leather.)

I just noticed each picture is with a different texture pack, lol.

Slaves of the Coal Mine
An interesting Novel to pass the time.
