I'm doing a zombie apocalypse series on youtube and I want zombies not to burn in the daylight? how could you do that?
I can't do it myself without further research, but I suppose you can set a command block to put a leather cap on every zombie in range that spawns without one.
It's better to have them put an item on their head (preferably a stone button) in order to keep the normal zombie look. Also, the items won't break when you put one on a zombie's head.

Remember those versions that minecraft pranked us with? Specifically:
Minecraft 2.0
Minecraft 1.VR-Pre1
Snapshot 15w14a
Minecraft 3D
Those are still downloadable! Watch this video for 2.0:
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.
Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
Wait. I might be a lil dumb here but doesn't glass [above] the zombie help prevent their fatal sunburn? Never tested this theory.
Zombies, drowneds, husks, stray, and skeletons will be fatal sunburned under glass.

A simple way to keep zombies alive in the daytime is to lure them into a trap that has water, force them to take a dip to prevent daylight from burning them.
then use wood to put a roof over the top of them. With a 1 block wide window on the side assuming it's not a baby zombie, you can use that to convert them into villagers using potion of weakness and golden apple.
It has to be a zombie villager though, or this won't work.

And trapping regular zombies is pointless really.
The point is that OP wants a roleplay scene with zombie hordes charging the actors in broad daylight on solid ground.
This would only work in an ocean setting, and even then, the undead sometimes swim so high that they burn a second at a time anyway, especially in shallow water. (But last I checked, they sink in water since 1.13 anyway, so this won't even work for the RP).

in survival play you'd still have enough time to put a wooden structure around them to shield them from the daylight.
In creative mode as the OP put the topic in, I'd assume this is some experiment to prepare him/her to trap zombies in survival gameplay.
In creative mode it simply doesn't matter where you trap zombies, as long as they're not in fire, lava, void or inside gravel etc, as you can switch time to night to eliminate the problem of zombies burning to death.
And with command blocks it is possible to control the rate of spawning of zombies, or any mob.

It doesn't matter how you obtain them, although spawn eggs is way easier. Yes, you need them protected until you can apply a solution like helmets or potions or status effects to them (or use commands to do so as part of their spawn attributes).
But after, they need to be unprotected, because the scene likely takes place in broad day, not in water, or at night, or under a roofed shelter. I am assuming broad daylight, solid ground, from how OP describes it.

Spawn eggs are in limited supply however, when you put them in dispensers, you have to keep putting more in once the redstone spawning system is finished, unless you put them inside a mob spawner cage.
Using a command block system is more precise, as you can control the rate of spawning as I mentioned earlier.
This helps to prevent lag on servers if you know how limited your hardware is.

I see. You're right, far as creative mode goes.
If the OP is working in no-cheats survival...good luck to them. They'll need what you described with a trap shelter, and probably more. At least zombies being unable to swim means that shallow water works.
Still, overall goal is a finite number of sun-protected zombies.

you could build a large packed ice plane above the area you want to use or use slabs.
I'm not stupid, i'm just confused.

To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is half as big as it needs to be.

(I think it depends on whether you just poured water in or poured water out.)

Zombies don't die when they wear a helmet

Try this:
/summon minecraft:zombie ~ ~1 ~ {ArmorItems:[{},{},{},{id:"minecraft:stone_button",Count:1}]}
make them wear a helmet or get this plugin called Sunscreen
put a hat on the zombie

A high tier helmet with unbreaking iii will last you a while, failing potions.
See skeleton horse traps for an example...
