For years I've known about Sneaking to place a block on/against an interactable block, such as an item frame on a chest or a hopper on top of a furnace, but I've seen people doing this exact thing in youtube videos while flying in Creative Mode and they do not move, at all.
When I attempt to place a block on the side of an interactable I begin to fly down making it a sort of minigame for me to place a block while flying. So my only method to place a block on an interactable block is to get a few blocks above, press Sneak, and as I whiz by my target location I have a few milliseconds to place the block against the interactable.
Again, I see people doing this exact thing in Creative mode, while flying many blocks in the sky, on minecraft youtube channels and they can place a hopper against the side of chest without moving downwards at all.
How are they doing this? I desperately need this functionality.
Is there some separate hotkey all together (that is not under Controls, or documented anywhere) aside from Sneaking that allows for this? Are they using 3rd party java mods? Are my controls messed up? I reset them to Default and used Shift (both Left and Right) to attempt to place a block while flying and I still had the same results: I'd fly straight down.
So here's the rub. I want pressing Sneak/Shift to always make my character to go down while flying but I also would love to know how to place a block against an interactable while flying too.
if you shift and hold spacebar at the same time you will stay in place while flying
That is it! Thank you very very much CatsCraft!
Here I am holding shift+alt, shift+ctrl, shift+[A-Z], shift+[F1-12] shift+TAB, etc... except the jump key and on top of it makes sense it would naturalize the Sneaking while flying--yet never occurred to me.
