Hey Folks! I have a large underground room (26x26) and I’m trying to make the entire floor an End Portal because of the cool effect.
I saw on youtube, some one made an absolutely massive one a couple years ago, but didn’t bother showing how it’s done, and I can’t Find where people have tried to do this before. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, it’s not possible to get the End Portal texture on a wall or ceiling like a nether portal, is it? I’d love to make every wall in this room have the end portal visual effect.
So I would guess perhaps the player used the setblock command - or maybe a fill command - to get the floor that size
As for the walls - isn't this effect similar to end gateway blocks ?? - if so maybe you could use that block for the walls.. you may need to set the NBT tag to TP the player to a specific location since otherwise (I think) it would tp you to the nearest end island
No, I am building this room in the vanilla world. I’m just hoping these won’t teleport me places when I touch them. Since these End Gateway blocks won’t be in any special realm, they won’t be anything more than decorative blocks, right?
It’s not a big deal if they teleport me places, but it’d be a lot easier if they were just decoration.
Well - I had a quick play & produced 2 walls & a floor of end_gateway 'blocks' (in the overworld) & discovered a few things
Firstly - end_gateway blocks are non-solid.. meaning you can walk/drop down through them
Second - each time you walk through the wall you get a purple beacon beam appear above the point where you walk through
> this means if you have a floor of end gateway blocks.. as you walk through - EVERY block you touch will end up with a purple beacon beam showing
- A couple of ways you could prevent this happening is if you place barrier blocks in front/on top of the end gateways, however (when I tested) occasionally you get the beacon beam appearing at random when approaching
- You could have end PORTAL for the floor (with barrier blocks above) & you won't get the beacon beam(s) showing on the floor
Third - having a largish area can cause a LOT of lag.. even with particles turned to minimal
Forth - when you walk through an end_gateway in overworld.. you DON'T get tp'd anywhere...
> If you had End PORTAL as the floor however - you get TP's to the End (so barrier blocks over these should prevent THAT happening)
